Bog Turtle Creek Farm We provide a healthy food option by means of the local farmers market located on Penn Street, CSA shareholders and weekly donations.

Bog Turtle Creek Farm is a program designed to make healthy, fresh produce available to those in the City of Reading, including those who utilize government programs such as WIC and SNAP to purchase their food. It is a student-led response to the lack of healthy, affordable food options for low-income families within our community. Alvernia students manage the farm. The produce will be sold each T

hursday at the Penn Street Farmer's Market. This is the only Farmer’s Market in the Berks County area that currently accepts SNAP.

Closing down the farm today at Bog Turtle! Huge thank you to all of our volunteer’s and Dr. Beckers Search class for helping us prep for winter!❄️ We sewed our cover crop of winter rye which adds organic matter that preserves the nutrients over the winter.
