History of Milagro Tequila
Milagro was founded in 1998 in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, by two entrepreneurs, Daniel and Josefina (Jose) Herrera. Their goal was to produce a super-premium tequila that would offer a smoother and more refined taste compared to the traditional tequila available at the time. They named the brand "Milagro," which translates to "miracle" in Spanish, to symbolize the exceptional quality and the craftsmanship behind each bottle.
The brand gained attention early on for its unique production process, including the use of hand-harvested blue agave and small-batch distilling methods, which set it apart from other tequila brands.
In 2012, Milagro was acquired by Gruppo Campari, a major global player in the spirits industry, which helped expand Milagro's presence on the international market.
Milagro Tequila's Production Process
Milagro Tequila is made primarily from 100% blue Weber agave sourced from the Jalisco region, particularly from the highlands (Los Altos) area. The production process is known for combining traditional and modern techniques, which gives the tequila a balanced flavor profile.
