Tomorrow is sale day! Almost all of the critters are tucked in for the night in Kimball. The sale order is posted on DVAuctions and we thought we should share a brief video of Miles talking about the open heifer lots.

Don't miss DJ Nyla N91, our Lot 51 heifer that is our pick of the entire spring heifers born last year. This Culmination crossed on Fortress just hits. She is in the top 1% of the breed for Weaning Weight, Yearling Weight, Total Maternal, Carcass Weight, Ribeye Area and the top 2% for Marbling. Genetically, she is a gold mine of our best lineages and to top it off...she is homozygous black and homozygous polled by parentage.

Miles has been part of the Maine-Anjou breed almost the entire time they have been in North America. You can hear his thoughts on the ten high percentage Maine bulls in the offering.

Another conversation with Miles and this time, the focus is VZA 613; the dominate Angus donor cow's impact on the offering both from a straight Angus standpoint and for a unique opportunity to evaluation seven flush brothers that are Maine Angus.

Last night, Wyatt spent a little time talking with Miles about some aspects to our sale on Thursday and the offering this year. Starting today, we will release some of those conversations about various lots or topics that Miles talked about. Hear straight from the man that has been with DeJong Ranch for 72 years. This first video is talking about two special calving ease bulls this year: Lot 16 - North Forty and Lot 22 - No Brainer.

All videos, catalog info, bull scan data with weights and scrotal measurements, and the heifer supplement info can be viewed at: https://www.dvauction.com/events/254126-dejong-ranch-annual-production-3-5-26

Our Angus selection this year is highlighted by many GVC Culmination sons, but also has well known sires like Conneally Craftsman, DVAR Huckleberry, and Basin Payweight 1682.

We are proud of the numbers behind these fellas, and also what we see in their phenotype. There is a variety of ages of development to fit each operation. Take time to evaluate them in our catalog, lot videos, or reach out with questions.

Bulls are available at the ranch today, but will travel to Kimball Livestock Exchange Wednesday afternoon to be penned. Sale starts at 1 p.m. cst, with a steak dinner starting at 11:30 a.m in the sale barn cafe.

Set a reminder, a set you won't want to miss.

We value Maine-Anjou cattle, and we love what Maine-Anjou cattle can do on an Angus cow base. Here we highlight just three of the 11 Maine-Angus lots in our upcoming sale.

Phenotypically, we love the added bone and muscularity, genetically we love the boost in EPD's across many different categories.

Currently calving out many GVC Culmination daughters, that have Garth or DJ Fortress influence, and the calves have come easy, the heifers are having great udders, and the temperament make them great to work with.

See what these guys can do for you! This Thursday these boys sell starting at 1 p.m. at Kimball Livestock Exchange and on dvauction.com

We could talk all day about our love for Maine-Anjou cattle. We can speak on hybrid-vigor and the success breeders have had with crossing Maine-Anjou cattle on Angus cow bases, the added muscle that yields for producers on the rail, and the extra skeletal dimension that allows for that muscular growth.

However, sometimes you have to see it to believe it. You have a great opportunity to see how we utilize these genetics on March 5th. From these Maine-Anjou bulls in the offering that have been developed with these characteristics in mind, to the lots of heifers, many of which show the benefit of this hybrid vigor.

Bid early and often on dvauction.com or in person at Kimball Livestock Exchange at 1 p.m. cst.
