The Vanstrom Homestead

The Vanstrom Homestead Connecting people to their food through our pasture-based livestock farm. We are a small family farm in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains.

Our little valley has been blessed with green grass, clean, plentiful water, and great people. We'd like to keep it that way, so we try our hardest to make sure we're taking care of this corner of the world. Grass fed meat products can be bought on the farm or by calling/texting Sam at 338-6151. Prices are generally about the same as at the grocery store, but the quality is out of this world in comparison.

We are butchering Chq Co Fair 4H chickens on Sunday afternoon and Monday evening. If enough people need it, we'll butcher again the following Sunday as well. If we're doing your birds, let us know your preference so we can organize accordingly.
$7 whole chickens, $8 Halved, $9 quartered. We shrink wrap unless you request otherwise.
These are butchering prices, not meat prices, sorry for any confusion.

Our team is partnering with Chautauqua Co Soil and Water, WNY Crop Management, and the Vanstrom Homestead to bring you a pasture walk and hands-on workshop series. Topics include multi-species grazing, forage sampling/results interpretation, soil sampling/results interpretation, and a high tensile fence installment.

Saturday June 20th, 11am - 2pm

$15 per person. Lunch included.

Happy Mother's Day from our newest group of moms-to-be to all of you A-mazing ladies!!

Yesterday was a loooong day but we successfully made it to the Hudson River and back. We stopped to fish and suprise a dear friend along the way. These four girls are registered Tunis, a dual purpose breed with great maternal traits and fine wool. We're excited to see what their Texel cross lambs will look like. 😊
