The news is out! The incredible Troy, our dear friend from Rex Farms and Big Hill Ciderworks, always pulls through. What would we do without him? I hope we never have to find out!
Troy delivered 160lbs of local sour cherries today! He truly is a treasure. He scored us some from a neighbor who did not suffer the loss of his entire crop. Neighbor Dave’s orchards were also decimated by the late April freeze, but somehow a small portion of his sour cherry crop made it through. And thanks to Troy, that means we have them for you.
Preorder is open on our webstore. We may have a couple of sour cherry buttermilk pies tomorrow, but no promises. The two week cherry-pitting marathon will commence on Tuesday and we will have fresh sour cherry pies, available all the ways, ready for you to pick up next week, and the week following! Preorder! We always sell out.
It is a short season, and incredibly labor intensive. We will spend tens and tens of hours pitting over the next two weeks- as quickly as we can- to churn out as many pies as humanly possible. Two weeks and that’s it. Don’t miss it!
