We have a clear mission, passionate Member-Owners, and overwhelming community support to open a food co-op for all residents which can build and sustain the power of "local."

🌿 LOCAL WELLNESS IS COMING TO KCG

This fall, KCG will have not only fresh food and artisanal products, but also a wide range of local wellness products. We’ve put together a balanced assortment where the products complement each other — from teas and tinctures to herbal blends, electuaries, salves and more.

🌱 Bluestem Botanicals — Doylestown, PA
A certified organic herb farm and small-batch producer making herbal extracts, wellness formulas, teas, bitters, botanical syrups and more.

🍯 Gravesyard Apiary — New Castle, DE
Beyond their raw honey, Gravesyard makes fermented honey with garlic, ginger and peppers, along with herbal electuaries — smooth honey blends made with herbs and spices. We’ll also be carrying their Golden Latte and Allerg-Ease blends.

🌿 My Herbal Apothecary — Pequea, PA
An herbal apothecary focused on seasonal, plant-based wellness. Their products include tisanes, tonics, tinctures, sprays and salves, with an emphasis on connecting people with the plants they use.

🌼 Oma Herbal Teas — Schwenksville, PA
A family-owned herb farm and small-batch apothecary growing their own herbs and making loose-leaf tea blends, tinctures and fire cider.

We’re excited about how this collection is coming together — a thoughtful mix of local producers and products that gives you lots of ways to explore herbs and plant-based wellness.

🐝 Come see what LOCAL really looks like.

🎟️ ONLY TWELVE SPOTS LEFT!

On Saturday, September 19, we’re taking a field trip to StellaLou Farm & Succession Fermentory in Cochranville — and we’d love for you to come with us!

StellaLou is a sustainable permaculture homestead and educational site where farming, land stewardship, pollinators, and community all come together. 🌿

There’s an apiary on the property, gardens and perennial growing systems, and it’s also home to Succession Fermentory, a farm brewery that uses ingredients grown and produced right there on the land.

During our farm tour, we’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at StellaLou, learn more about their work, and spend some time exploring the farm with the people who make it all happen.

We’ll also learn about Succession, enjoy a tasting, and share lunch featuring food from Oso Sweet Cafe. (More details on our website!)

If you want to spend a Saturday afternoon somewhere beautiful and learn something new, come hang out with us! 🌱

📅 Saturday, September 19
📍 StellaLou Farm & Succession Fermentory
428 Leaman Road, Cochranville, PA

⏰ Registration closes September 13!

I stopped by the store today, and WOW. 🥹

It’s looking so different inside already. Seeing the space start to transform made me SO excited.

Richard Basilio, owner of Mobac Inc., walked me through the space and was incredibly generous with his time. I had approximately a dozen questions — about lighting, paint colors, equipment, fixtures, the timeline… 😂 — and he and his crew were so patient and gracious about answering all of them and giving me the rundown!

I spend most of my days right now in my office entering products into our POS system, emailing producers, working on product selection, and doing approximately 47 things on a computer at once. So getting to actually stand inside the space today and see it coming together was awesome.

There’s still a LOT to do, but IT. IS. HAPPENING.

We should have a party. 🎉

Wanna party with me? 😉

A field trip to West Chester Cooperative! 🙌

I spent a couple of hours at West Chester Cooperative this week, which just opened its doors, and I had such a great visit!

I met with Issa, their Store Manager, who was incredibly welcoming and generous with his time. He showed me around, gave me a tour, and told me all about how things have been going.

Of course, I also had to play a little game of I SPY 👀 — spotting some of the local products that you’ll also find at KCG this fall! (check out the pics) 📷

There were volunteers there pitching in and helping wherever they were needed, and shoppers who were excited to finally have their co-op open. It was wonderful to see West Chester Cooperative up and running, and I’m so happy they’ve made it to this moment with the support of their community. 💛

Obviously, I came home with groceries! All the food staples… plus maple cookies, sweet & salty popcorn and black licorice. 😉

Congratulations, West Chester Cooperative! We’re cheering you on from Kennett Square. 🍄‍🟫

Meet the artist behind fromlinetoline 🐱

We’re so excited to have the work of Adriana Jaramillo of fromlinetoline at KCG this fall!

Adriana is a visual artist and printmaker from Ecuador, now based in Philadelphia. Her work has this wonderful mix of playfulness, warmth, nature, animals, and everyday moments — the kind of art that makes you smile…BIG. We especially love the way she brings those little details of life into her illustrations.

Her creative work spans painting, collage, printmaking, wearable art, and collectible pieces, and you can find her work online, at art and craft shows, and soon at KCG!

Adriana also runs a monthly Mail Club, where subscribers receive original artwork and designs made especially for the club, delivered right to their door. It’s a really fun way to follow along with her work and support her creative practice.

We’re thrilled to be able to give our shoppers a place to discover local artists like Adriana alongside the farmers, bakers, makers, and producers who make our community so spectacular.

✨ Keep an eye out for fromlinetoline when KCG opens this fall! And in the meantime, go check out Adriana’s work and give her a follow.

Meet the local microgreen growers that will be bringing us nutritious goodness this fall! 🌱

We’re excited to welcome PennGrows Microgreens and Glenmoore Greens to Kennett Community Grocer! These two local growers are taking a different approach to growing fresh greens.

PennGrows is an indoor vertical farm in Trevose, PA, founded by husband-and-wife team Mitchell and Gloria Cherny. Their journey into microgreens began when their dog, Finley, was diagnosed with cancer and Mitchell began researching the potential benefits of broccoli microgreens.

Glenmoore Greens, a women-led farm in Glenmoore, PA, grows premium leafy greens year-round using controlled-environment and aeroponic growing systems. Their focus on getting greens from farm to table in under 24 hours means freshness is a priority.

We’re especially excited that PennGrows and Glenmoore Greens complement each other so well, bringing a wide assortment of fresh, locally grown microgreens to KCG.

🍦What a night!🍦

Thank you to everyone who came out to Hangry Bear on Thursday to grab dinner, enjoy some ice cream, and support Kennett Community Grocer!

From 5:30–8:30 PM, 15% of food and ice cream sales went directly to KCG, and we had such a fun evening connecting with our community.

A huge thank you to the KCG volunteers who organized this event & came out to help make it happen! We absolutely could not do events like this without you. 💚

And congratulations to our Gummy Bear Champion! 🐻🍬 He guessed closest to the number of gummy bear packs in the jar and took the whole prize home!

And of course, a BIG thank you to the team at Hangry Bear for hosting us and helping us turn an ordinary Thursday night into a pretty sweet fundraiser. 🍦🍄

This is what community support looks like. 👏 #

KCG is getting closer and closer to opening our doors this fall, and we’re looking for a few more wonderful people to join us for the next chapter.

We’re hiring Team Members and a Produce Manager who are excited about local food, community, and helping create a welcoming place for our neighbors, farmers, and producers.

If you’re dependable, curious, collaborative, and excited to help bring Kennett Community Grocer to life, we’d love to hear from you!
