I realized I’ve been hiding behind product shots for way too long! Turns out I’m much better at posting photos of macarons than of myself. With summer wrapping up, it feels like the right time to change that.
You may have noticed my business name changed from Sweetestry to Poppy & Flour, though I haven’t officially “announced” it — I’ve been working out the logistics, and honestly, still getting used to it myself. 😊
When I first started this business, I wasn’t sure it’d evolve, and I couldn’t focus solely on it. I had a full-time job, and only recently left NIH last summer after 12 years of public service. Prior to this, I was burning the candle at both ends. My career provided me with stability, and the baking business was my passion and creative outlet. Being forced to close that door has given me the chance to finally go all in.
When one door closes, another opens, and I’m excited to see what the future brings. These days, that means macarons, custom buttercream cakes, cupcakes, macaron classes, and hopefully more!
Whether you’re new or you’ve been here since the beginning, I’m glad you’re around. Let’s catch up in the comments! I’ll start with what I’ve been up to this summer. 🤍
