If you are a gardener you know… Every year seems to bring a different harvest… some things thrive and some things don’t make it through the Japanese beetles, squash bugs, or some other little pest! This year we have been so beyond blessed with the harvest. It is bountiful! We have have been able to share lots of our harvest with friends and family, while still being able to preserve a lot of it for our family over winter. I will enjoy this… because next year my cucumbers might be fighting for their life 🤣

-Vanilla cake, with vanilla pudding in between layers. For frosting I did a stabilized chocolate whip cream frosting. Topped with Oreo crumbles for “dirt” and lots of gummy worms 😝

I’m sure everyone at some point has heard or said the term “I’m sweating like a pig!” (Myself included) Which is funny because pigs don’t actually sweat! So you may wonder how they are staying cool in this extreme heat wave?

The number one way is wallowing in cool mud which acts as a natural evaporative coolant! Going along with the mud, the thick layer of mud on their bodies helps act as a natural sunscreen protecting against sunburn and bugs. They can also pant to release internal body heat & will seek shade which need to be provided at all times.
