A Championship Effort at the Florida Parish Arena!
Recently, our students had the incredible opportunity to show live goats at the Florida Parish Arena in Amite. Under the expert guidance of 4-H students, they were mentored through every step of the showing process.

The joy and enthusiasm our students showed while learning about livestock were truly inspiring. We are thrilled to announce that each participant earned a medal for their hard work and dedication! 🥇

We are so proud of their efforts and extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers who made this rewarding day possible.

Each day of the 2025 LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show, we will be highlighting one of our dedicated and hardworking graduating seniors. These members have put countless hours and effort into their 4-H projects, and they truly deserve a spotlight for their final show. Please join us this week in recognizing and celebrating their achievements!🍀

Day 5: Senior Spotlight - Abigayle Forrest🍀🎓

Abigayle is the daughter of Brianne Forrest from Kentwood , LA. She has dedicated five years to showing goats through 4-H, and her hard work and commitment have been evident in all she’s accomplished. 🐐

When reflecting on her 4-H journey, Abigayle shared this heartfelt message:

“I would like to thank my mom and Mommie for helping me with everything and always supporting me. Their encouragement has made all the difference in my 4-H experience.”

Her favorite livestock memory? “My favorite memory would be when I won my buckle at the Parish Show this year. It was such an exciting moment and a testament to all the hard work I’ve put in over the years.”

Abigayle’s advice to new exhibitors: “Just remember, it’s a lot of work, but it’s well worth it in the end. Keep pushing through and enjoy the process!”

In addition to her 4-H accomplishments, Abigayle has been an active leader in her community. She has served on the State STEM Board from 2022-2025, as President of the TYC for 2024-2025, and as the Parish Livestock Ambassador for 2024-2025. Her leadership and dedication are an inspiration to others.

We are incredibly proud of Abigayle and all she’s achieved! We can’t wait to see the great things she will continue to accomplish. 🌟

Join us in celebrating her hard work and dedication at the 2025 LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show!

🍀 Meet Your Parish Livestock Ambassador: Abigayle Forrest! 🍀

Over the next two weeks, we will be introducing the exceptional 4-H Livestock Ambassadors who will proudly represent Tangipahoa Parish! These ambassadors were chosen through a competitive selection process and are dedicated to advocating for livestock, promoting agriculture, and making a positive impact in our community.

💥 Abigayle Forrest 💥

Abigayle is a Senior at University View Academy and has been an active member of 4-H for 9 years. She’s been a dedicated participant in the Tangi Youth Club for 4 years and has served in Junior Leaders for 5 years. Abigayle has been showing goats for the past 5 years, with a diverse herd that includes Nigerian Dwarfs, Nubian, Boer, and LaMancha goats.

Her leadership experience shines through as she currently serves as the President of her 4-H Club and as a member of the State STEM Board. But it’s her passion for livestock and working with others that truly sets her apart. Abigayle is especially excited to help new and inexperienced exhibitors navigate the world of livestock, offering guidance and support in goat showing. While she continues to refine her own showmanship skills, Abigayle is eager to share what she’s learned and inspire others on their own showman journeys.

As a Livestock Ambassador, Abigayle looks forward to gaining more hands-on experience in agriculture while supporting her peers and growing the livestock community. With 16 goats at home, Abigayle’s journey is a perfect example of how 4-H and livestock programs can open doors to new experiences and lifelong passions.

Stay tuned as we continue to introduce our Livestock Ambassadors, and join us in supporting Abigayle and all of our ambassadors as they represent the future of Tangipahoa Parish agriculture! 🍀
