Not a good day to be Rich. He went to pick up pig feed and on the way home had a flock of guinea hens run across the road. In his attempt to not hit them, he hit the brakes sending the 1 ton+ bag forward off the trailer dumping half of the feed on the road.

After he phoned a friend to pick him up and retrieve the skidsteer, they managed to get the bag back on the trailer, shovel most of the feed back into the bag and returned home.

Unfortunately, 1 hen perished but no other damages were noted.

Angel update: First, the whole staff fell in love with my girl. 😍 I mean, can you blame them? 😊❤🐂

So after x-rays, Dr Alex determined that Angel was mostly likely stepped on shortly after birth (she does have scuff marks on her hip/leg) causing a dislocation or a sa*** fracture in her hock. I can't remember what she called the fracture 🙃. Some healing has already taken place. The dislocation isn't bad enough to require surgery at this time so a splint was applied. It is to stay in place for 5 days and then we need to reassess.

Wish me luck keeping this splint clean and dry! 🤞
