Hay season is officially underway. The new-to-us New Holland BR7070 made its first trip to the field today and performed great. Unfortunately, the hay crop itself is far from impressive.

This spring drought has really taken a toll on farms across the area.

Thursday, we took a big step and closed on a house! Responses may be a little slower over the next few weeks while we paint and get everything ready before the move, but we’re excited for this next chapter for our family.

Speaking of new chapters, we were saddened to hear the recent news about Neese’s Sausage. Our thoughts are with the employees and families facing uncertainty during this time.

For the first time in Sportsman’s Heart history, we’re hosting our first public banquet and you’re invited to be part of it.

This is what impact looks like up close. The night is centered around our 10 new hunters for the 2026–2027 season. Your ticket gives you a seat in the room to see what this program is really all about and be part of a night they won’t forget.

Throughout the evening, you’ll enjoy good food, great company, and learn more about the heart behind this program along with plenty to keep things fun.

We’ll also have new apparel, and more happening all night. Our auction will be the biggest yet, keep an eye out on our social media for clues.

Yesterday was a full, busy day on the farm from delivering beef to planting millet.

Thanks to Matt for sharing those mouthwatering brisket photos—he said, “My girls dove on it as fast as I could slice it.”

Meanwhile, after delivery of a half beef, Brian had NY strips and chuckeye steaks sizzling on the grill. What are you cooking first after a 1/4, 1/2 or whole beef delivery?
