Three cloudy days and I had to fire the generator up last night.
Not mad about it. That’s just how it goes sometimes. When the sun doesn’t show up, the batteries don’t magically fill themselves. You either cut back or you top them off. Simple as that.
Everything here runs on batteries. House, lights, internet, tools, pumps. When the sky is gray for days straight, you start paying attention real quick to what actually matters. You realize how much stuff we normally leave on without thinking about it.
The generator isn’t failure. It’s backup. I don’t like listening to it, but I like dead batteries even less.
Living like this makes you aware of every watt. You don’t waste energy when you’re the one responsible for making it. And when the sun comes back out and the batteries start climbing again, it’s a good feeling knowing you’re running your own grid.
It’s not about being extreme. It’s about being responsible.

If it scared me, I hit it faster.
Bigger jumps. Higher stakes.
Now I’d rather keep both wheels closer to the ground.
Maybe I’m getting older.
Maybe I’ve got nothing left to prove.
Or maybe love finally beat fear.
And I’ve got something worth sticking around for.

Haven’t been on a saddle in about 6 years.
Starting back up on a completely different bike makes me feel like a total rookie again.
No clutch. No foot brake. No gears.
My muscle memory keeps reaching for things that aren’t even there. Brain says one thing. Bike says, “bruh.”
It’s weird rewiring yourself after decades of riding the old way.
But I’m having fun. That part never left.
I’ll get used to the new power.
I’ll get my wheelies back.
Just shaking the rust off.
