Blog Post 2025
This was a busy year as usual. Most of what I do does not show up on Facebook, either on the Joe Barreca page or on the Barreca Vineyards page. I am however busy on the Internet on The Heritage Network website (as president of that association of museums and historical societies) on the MapMet.com website (where I don’t put much personal stuff but sell map books and related products) and on the BarrecaVineyards.com website where I can sell wine but where most of my other articles are posted. A new article came out in the NC Monthly but I am a little slow in posting it on the Barreca Vineyards website. It is there now and you can check it out at
https://barrecavineyards.com/sheep-in-the-vineyard/ It is about an experiment this year in running sheep in the vineyard, why I wanted to do it and how it worked out. Also a little philosophy about making mistakes. Another blog is on it's way about personal life during June and there is a new headline post about free grape plants available now.

As usual, too much is going on. More on that later. For now a new article is available on the Barreca Vineyards website about Myno Carbon, a company setting up to produce millions of pounds of biochar in Kettle Falls. Also of note is that grape plants are now ready for sale. An inventory is available on the website.

Spring has sprung here so an intense period of pruning and rooting cuttings has begun. I may be able to post something about happenings over the winter later. https://barrecavineyards.com/
