Borgo Maragliano is a historic, highly regarded, family-run Italian winery situated 450 meters above sea level on a natural terrace of the Langhe hills in Loazzolo, Piedmont. The Galliano family—who have deep viticultural roots in the area spanning five generations—tend the estate that covers approximately 85 hectares total and 45 of vineyards. It’s celebrated as a pioneering force for the Alta Langa DOCG appellation.

Great couple of days in NYC with Francesco Galliano of Borgo Maragliano , a family-run estate located within the Langhe hills of Piedmont, Italy, and famous for exceptional classic-method sparkling wines (Metodo Classico). The vineyards benefit from dramatic diurnal temperature shift and the “Marin”—a regular sea wind blowing in from the Ligurian Sea. This unique alchemy preserves refreshing natural acidity and intense aromatic qualities in the grapes and wine.
Today it’s managed by fifth-generation winemaker Carlo Galliano(Francesco’s Dad) and his wife Silvia. The estate spans around 44 hectares of vineyards situated roughly 600+ meters above sea level.

Fratelli Omede are two Brothers, Gabriele -agronomist/Emilio -enologist. They are bottling delicious Grignolino from old plots in different historic styles, all vinified in the small cellar of their house. The goal is to enhance and showcase the different terroirs of their Grignolino. The cellar is right next to a local sign that says:
“territori del grignolino” ..the passing time has come around to restore importance to this noble variety.
