Beau is a draft cross with the looks of a high school quarterback & the attitude of a toddler who skipped his nap. He knows he’s handsome, and isn’t afraid to add a little sass when the mood strikes.

🏈 Human Career: High school jock… or high school dropout. Could go either way, tbh.
⭐ Hidden Talent: Getting by on good looks & being very western pleasure-y.
😎 Personality: Handsome. Sassy. Occasionally unsupervised.

Meet The Herd Monday β€” Meet Fritz! 🐴

Small horse, big opinions.

Every ranch needs upper management. Ours just happens to be pony-sized.

Fritz may be one of the smallest horses at the ranch, but he runs the place like he signs everyone's paychecks. Equal parts sweet and sassy, he's completely convinced the entire herd reports directly to him - and judging by the way he keeps them in line, he might be right. He's a favorite among the lesson kids and really only has two speeds: standing still and catch me if you can!

🀠 Human Career: Self-appointed CEO.
⭐ Hidden Talent: Convincing draft horses to move out of his way.
πŸ’› Favorite People: Every lesson kid who walks through the barn.
😎 Ego: Approximately 18 hands tall.

Meet Our Herd Monday

Big Haus ! 🀠

This special guy is just as steady & sweet as he is big.

Haus gets his name from Bonanza and is a Percheron cross with the rΓ©sumΓ© of a high school student who hasn’t quite decided what he wants to be when he grows up.

🐴 Human Career: Unemployed
πŸŽ“ Education: Broke on the trail. Broke in the pasture. Still studying everything else.
🌟 Personality: Certified β€œslow cooker.” His age and his brain are currently in two different decades.
🚜 Favorite Activity: Walking up to the skid loader bucket for the sole purpose of spooking himself and running away from it.
🀎 Soft Spot: Kids. Haus is a go-to around the ranch, and the kids love him almost as much as he loves soaking up all their attention.

No thoughts. Just vibes, hay bales, and occasionally terrifying himself.

8 year old, bay, grade mare standing 14HH

This girl is about as sweet as they come. She is that perfect nearly pony size making her great for those that don't want the high climb or the timid rider that wants a little "less horse" under them. She is light in the barrel and light in the mouth. Neck reins and stands nicely whenever asked. Overall, a solid trail/family horse.

As another season of kids camp is almost coming to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people behind it all.

From early mornings in the barn to long afternoons in the arena, our staff poured their hearts into every single camp session. They saddled horses, encouraged nervous kiddos, celebrated every success, answered a million and one questions, and made sure each camper felt safe, welcomed, and confident.

Thank you for your patience, your dedication, your kindness, and the countless hours you all invested in helping kids nurture their love for horses and the western way of life.

We are so grateful for each of you. Thank you for making Palomino Pines such a special place.
