They’re twice the size of last year’s kids… and twice as dramatic too.

The boys have officially decided that outside life is the best life — sunshine naps, endless grass buffets, and full-speed farm zoomies from sunrise to sunset. Watching them grow this fast has been wild. Compared to our first kidding season last year, these boys are absolute tanks and thriving in every way.

Now… do they still trust us after castrating them? The side-eyes have been strong lately, but somehow fresh grass and warm sunshine seem to help heal all wounds.

For now, the boys are happy, healthy, and living their best pasture lives — even if they may never forgive us completely.

They got evicted from the milk bar this weekend… and honestly, the moms seem pretty relieved about it. 😂

This weekend was a big one on the farm — all 8 boys were weaned and castrated, which means a whole new chapter for these little fluff balls. And while I expected a little more drama from the moms, they mostly looked at me like, “Finally. We’ve done enough.”

Now the boys are settling into their bachelor life: laying in the sunshine, sniffing dandelions, bouncing through the grass, and letting the wind hit those fluffy ears just right. Watching them all pile around together has been one of those quiet reminders that animals really do adapt faster than we give them credit for. One hard day… then back to playing like nothing happened.

It has been a crazy 6 months. From our kids being born in July. To having a really late kid in October. Adding 6 more does to our herd and another buck. All while building our forever home on the farm. 2026 is a new start for us. We also upped our breeding line with a 100% fullblood registered buck. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
