Tech Tuesday spotlight!

Last month we hosted the 2026 Summer Cookout for area farmers and what a turnout!
Along with a great meal and socializing we discussed a UW soybean herbicide trial that we participated in along with the benefits our 360 Rain units have brought to our operation.

These autonomous irrigation units currently apply nutrients and wastewater to crops around our farm.

Although they seem high tech the 360 Rain units have a simple yet essential job irrigating and “spoon feeding” the crops throughout the growing season giving the crops the greatest opportunity for success!

We really appreciate all the local farmers that made time and were able to attend this great event!

See farming in action: Farmers gathered to learn how the Rain 360 system performs in the field, ask practical questions, and hear first-hand tips from peers.

Once upon a time…

Two love birds took a chance on buying their first farm three days before they got married.

With a golden retriever by their side they made their way up the road from Cedarburg to West Bend, WI.

While struggling to make a name for themselves they had people who believed in them by their side. Over time they didn’t only succeed but ended up creating a legacy along the way.

Listen to some of the story behind the beginning of Golden “E” Dairy and how it’s grown into the dairy it is today.

Every successful dairy has a story.

For Chris and Tracey Elbe of Golden "E" Dairy Farms it started with a handful of calves, a small farm, and a dream they were willing to work for.

In this episode of the Uplevel Dairy Podcast, they share what it really takes to build a dairy from the ground up—from making tough decisions and embracing innovation to creating opportunities for the next generation.

It's an inspiring reminder that big dreams are built one step at a time.

Back by popular demand…

🌻🌻🌻The sunflower patches have returned in 2026!! 🌻🌻🌻

Over 7 acres of beautiful sunflowers surrounding our milking parlor should hit peak bloom by the end of this week!

Sneak around some road construction signs (We won’t tattle. They might actually be permanent… nobody knows.) and slowly make your way over some bumps in the road to 1140 Shalom Dr. and pick yourself a couple of sunflowers or just soak in the sea of yellow!

Community.
A sense we all learn to appreciate because it’s often felt during a difficult time.

Something the Guttmann family recently felt during an unexpected and difficult experience.

The team at G.E.D. were more than happy to help them as they power through and rebuild their family operation as we know they would be there for us too! 🐄🥛

High-Oleic Soybeans.
A hot topic in the dairy industry right now. Almost a buzz word of sorts farmers have heard all about. But three years ago when G.E.D. went all in planting Plenish Soybeans and building infrastructure many farmers had never even heard of High-Oleic soybeans.

Timely in season nutrient and protection application is a key factor to a crop’s success!

So to have the most control over our crop’s success Ryan and Matt take on the responsibility of doing these application practices in house.

It definitely adds a lot to the work load at G.E.D.! But it’s a time investment that continues to pay off year after year.

Today was a big day for the team at G.E.D.!!

Not only did we move animals into our new heifer facility. We also started up our new manure separation system!

A lot of planning and hard work has gone into these two investments over the past year and we just want to say we really appreciate all the people that helped make these plans a reality!

Today marks the 10th Anniversary of milking in the dairy barn we built from the ground up!

We couldn't have reached this anniversary alone! So we just wanted to send a special thank you to the team and everyone who's been involved along the way!

The team at GED has alot of community involvement under our belt! And we love seeing our involvement benefit our local communities!

Earlier this year several rural townships in our area reached out to Chris for his input and assistance with the Agriculture Roads Improvement Program. And he was happy to help!

Congratulations to the Town of Fredonia on being a recipient for a stretch of roadway we use to plant, harvest, and provide nutrients to our crops!

The team at GED is proud to supply even MORE fresh, nutritious, and delicious milk to OUR LOCAL communities!

Look for the code 55-1500 on your milk jug and you'll know it came from local family farms including ours!

Milk from Wisconsin just tastes better anyway!!
