🚜 Happy National Farmers Day! 🌾

Farming is more than raising cattle and growing crops. It’s early mornings, long days, unpredictable weather, muddy boots, hard work, and trusting God through every season.

It’s a family working together to care for the land, raise healthy animals, and provide good food for other families. It’s teaching our girls where their food comes from and getting to raise them in the same fields and pastures that have been cared for by generations before us.

Farming isn’t always easy, but it’s a life we’re grateful to live. ❤️

Today, we’re thankful for our family, for the opportunity to continue our family’s farming legacy, and especially for YOU, the customers and supporters who make it possible for small family farms like ours to keep going. Every order, every kind word, and every recommendation means more than you know!

Happy National Farmers Day from our family to yours! 🌱🐄

🍂 September Farm Recap! 🌾

September was a month of wrapping up summer, preparing for fall, and learning (once again) that farming doesn't always go according to plan!

🚜 Second Cutting Hay: We finished our second cutting, but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. About a third of our hay was rained on twice and completely ruined. It's a tough reality of farming, but we're thankful we planted oats and peas in our previous wheat ground to help provide extra feed for the cows this winter. Now we're just hoping to get the rust under control so we can harvest it!

🐥 The Chicks Are Growing: Our chicks have officially moved out to pasture! They're growing fast and now get moved to fresh pasture every day.

🐮 Getting Ready for Calving: Fall calving season is right around the corner! Rosie the donkey has joined the calving herd, and the cows have been moved to fresh pasture closer to the barns and house so we can keep a close eye on everyone as we get ready to welcome new calves.

🥕 Wrapping Up the Garden: Our seasonal produce subscription has come to an end for the year, and we're busy cleaning out the garden and preparing to plant our cover crop. We also harvested our sweet potatoes! 🍠 They'll be available in our online store soon. In the meantime, we still have Red Pontiac and Yukon Gold potatoes available!

Farming brings its share of challenges, unexpected turns, and long days, but it also brings so much to be thankful for. We're grateful for the lessons each season teaches us, the food we're able to grow and raise, and the opportunity to care for this land and our animals.

And as always, we're especially thankful for YOU! ❤️ Your support helps keep our family farm going, and we couldn't do it without you.

Here's to cooler days, fall harvests, and hopefully some new little faces around the farm soon! 🍁🐮

After a busy summer, it’s time for a little family time! ❤️🌾

There’s nothing quite like hearing from a customer that they trust our farm to feed their family, even from all the way down in Florida! ❤️

We’re so thankful for customers who choose to support our family farm and make it possible for us to keep raising beef with care and sending it to families near and far.

Thank you, Sarah, for taking the time to share your experience! 🥩🐄

Have you enjoyed any of our beef, chicken, produce, or tallow? We’d love to hear from you, too! Take a minute to leave us a Google review through the link in our bio. It means so much to our family and helps other families find our farm. ❤️

It’s not all crops & animals around here. 🌸

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes on the farm, and Mum Mum is a big part of that. She does so much to care for our family, and one of the things she loves most is her flowers. ❤️

But those flowers are more than just something pretty to look at.

They give the girls another opportunity to slow down and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. They bring color and life to the farm. And, they provide food and habitat for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects that help our gardens and crops thrive. 🐝🌱

It’s a beautiful reminder that everything on the farm is connected.

Sometimes farming looks like planting a crop or caring for an animal, and sometimes it looks like planting flowers just because they bring joy.

Both are important. ❤️

And we’re thankful for the beauty Mum Mum brings to our farm in more ways than one. 🌸
