After a great get away with family it was nice to come home to see how good the crops and pastures looked after some decent rainfall!

Thankful to be able to get away but thankful to be home enjoying the fruits (or should i say beef) of our labor.

Ever heard the saying "The cobbler's children have no shoes"?

Well, recently around here, THANKS to our quarter, half and whole buyers, the farmer's children have had no BEEF! (ground beef, that is!) haha

It's been a challenge to keep stocked in ground beef but we are happy to announce we are NOW FULLY STOCKED!!
So thank you to our great customers who have patiently waited in these last months as we rationed out our inventory.

And thanks to our kids who can now make spaghetti!! (once you pick up your boxes 😉)

At least for now, it is...I think!?

This weather's been a bit crazy, hasn't it?! We've been having a bit of a thermostat "debate" at our house because every night it gets a bit chilly for someone, haha

BUT, regardless of what's going on with the temperature, we've got some ground beef deals for you!

It's says spring according to the calendar, but the temperature is not reflecting it today! Brrrrr

Someone is practicing planting fence posts for when we put the cows back to grazing.

Meanwhile, the cows are loving the silage and hay we've been feeding all winter. But once this weather warms up and the grass is growing, we will all be happy they are back out on pasture!

Spent yesterday making bone broth, today making it into beef vegetable soup! Looking forward to enjoying it as the terrible weather is forecasted to move in.

Stay safe out there, everyone, and say an extra prayer for those who have to be out in the weather.
Remember your farmers who are making sure their livestock is well fed and watered in the midst of nasty weather.

Greener Pastures

Welcome to our farm- rich with history and alive with green pastures that are sustaining, both the land and a legacy of family farming!

With each of us coming from a family of farmers, we feel it is vital to care for the land that has been an important part of our family for many generations. After dairy farming ourselves for over 30 years while incorporating grazing methods, transitioning to raising beef cattle was a natural fit. It’s been exciting to see both the cattle and land respond to rotational grazing and we enjoy watching the cows head to greener pastures! Located off of Keysville Road in Keymar, Maryland, our land has a legacy of its own. History reflects that this tract of land was once owned by the family of Francis Scott Key. (Francis Scott Key’s birthplace can be found only a couple miles from our farm.) Denise’s great-grandfather purchased the farm in 1919 and we were able to buy it in 1997. This land has an amazing view of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, with wind flowing from them and into our pastures. Key Breeze Farm is the combination of preserving a legacy while also embracing the “winds of change.”
