🐱🐣 A little farm update! 🌱❤️

The newest little additions to the crazy crew are doing FANTASTIC! 😍 These kittens are growing like little weeds, and boyyyy are they getting CHUNKY! 😂 Their eyes haven't opened yet, but they're already getting so big!

Smokey has thankfully 😬 moved her brood from my bed to a nice little nook in the corner, and now the babies spend most of their time hanging out outside of the kennel and exploring their little area. 🥹❤️

Watching babies grow never gets old. 😍

And speaking of exciting baby plans...

🎃🐔 OUR HALLOWEEN COOP IS PRODUCING! 🎃🐔

Our Calico Phoenix project has officially started dropping some butt nuggets for us! 🙌🤣 I am SO excited to finally start test hatching these guys and see what these genetics are going to give us!

I'm still not 100% sold on the sickle feather quality on our two young roos, Ichabod and Candycorn, but they're still young, so we're giving them time to mature and see how they finish out. 👀

And then there's Camo... 😍

We've got an awesome up-and-coming roo that we may try out once he's old enough if our boys don't quite give us what we're looking for. 🤞

I'm SO excited to see where this project goes! There's nothing quite like watching a project you've been working toward finally start producing. 🥰

But that's all I've got for now! 😂

🏡❤️ A little For Heaven’s Sake Farm update! ❤️🏡

We're still getting settled and situated in Keystone, and whew... between the move, school starting back up, and trying to get everyone back into some kind of routine, we've been NONSTOP! 😂

But I have to say, everyone is doing SO well here! 🥰 The rabbits and chickens are absolutely loving all the shade from the trees. 🌳 It's something we didn't have at the old house at all, so watching everyone enjoy it has been pretty awesome!

Rip and Bitty, our bottle-raised troublemakers, have officially made the move over and are settling in beautifully. 🐐❤️ Loui will be making the move soon too—he's still on loan to the in-laws for a little while longer. 😊

And then... apparently we may have inherited a cat. 😬🤣

A very pregnant cat, to be exact.

She showed up in pretty rough shape and VERY ready to pop. She quickly decided our property was her new home, made herself comfortable, and within a couple of days gave birth to FOUR kittens! 🫣

Because apparently we have absolutely no soft spot when it comes to animals... 🤦‍♀️🤣❤️

🐔🚚 Well... it took literally ALL day, but we got it done! 💪

All 5 chicken coops have officially been moved and put into place at the new property! 🙌

Of course... it wouldn't be a farm project without a little excitement. 🫠

While moving the second-to-last coop (our Duckwing Phoenix coop), the run decided it wanted to fly before the chickens did. 😳 A gust of wind caught it, and it literally lifted and FLEW off the trailer.

Talk about an instant heart attack. 😬

Thankfully, no people or chickens were hurt, but the run definitely took a beating. Ironically, it was the easiest setup to load and move... and it quickly turned into the most difficult and stressful part of the entire day.

I was so overwhelmed that I completely forgot to take pictures of the damage before Ben, as usual, came to the rescue and started repairing it. ❤️ He got everything put back together and fixed while I stood there bawling like a baby. 😅

We finally got the last coop—which also happened to be the biggest and hardest one to move—over around 11:30 last night, then unloaded and got it all set up this morning.

To say I'm relieved the chickens are finally finished would be an understatement. 🥴🤣

This move has been exhausting, but seeing everything slowly come together makes every long day worth it. One more step closer to calling this place home. ❤️🏡

🚚🐷🐰 Move Update! 🏡

Another BIG day of moving is in the books! 💪

Jolene, Bubba, and 3 out of our 4 rabbits officially made the move to the new property today! Along with them came their houses... and pretty much anything else we could cram onto the trailer. 🤭😂

Everyone got settled into their new homes, the pigs got their house attached, and the new pond is officially full and ready for our fish and plants from the old one!

As a little bonus, I threw in a sneak peek of the goat pen! It's still a work in progress, but it's coming together and the goats will be the last crew to make the move. 🐐❤️

Now for tomorrow... 😅

Honestly, I think moving the chickens is going to be the biggest task out of this entire operation! But we're getting closer every single day, and it's so exciting to watch our dream farm finally come together.

🏡✨ Property Update! ✨🏡

We're getting so close!!

The property is officially cleared out and the perimeter fence is up! 🙌

We've also moved both of our campers(our temporary homes)over and got them set up where we wanted them.❤️

We've moved a bunch of our plants and quite a few odds and ends, too. Every trip over means a little less left to move and one step closer to officially being there full-time.

Our shed gets moved Wednesday, and after that we're really going to kick things into high gear! 💪

The only major projects left are getting the goat and pig pens set up, and thankfully those shouldn't take too long.

To say we're excited is an understatement. 🥹 Watching this dream slowly come together has been one of the most rewarding (and exhausting 😅) things we've ever done.

❤️🍉 I had the cutest little helper this afternoon! 🍉❤️

With this Florida heat, the rabbits got their daily frozen water bottle, then everyone got a fresh bucket of cool water and a special afternoon treat of watermelon and pumpkin to help them cool off. 🐷🐐🐔🐰

I had a very proud little farm helper by my side making sure everyone got their share. 🥹

She was especially excited because she lost her very first tooth last night! 🦷✨ She's officially a big girl now and, if you ask her, she's ready to take on the world. 🤭🥰

These are the moments I love most—raising kids who know the joy of caring for animals, getting dirty, lending a helping hand, and making memories they'll hopefully carry with them forever. ❤️

I think the animals appreciated the treats... but I'm pretty sure my little helper enjoyed passing them out even more. 🥰

🌾🐐 A little farm update! ❤️

It's been a busy couple of weeks around here!

On July 4th, Rip and Bitty made the move to my inlaws in Keystone to join Loui and his lady friend, Stormy! 🐐❤️ They've adjusted so well to life outside 24/7 and are loving having a few more goat friends. Rip had spent time with Loui and Stormy before, so he settled right back in, and Bitty followed his lead like always. 🥹

I won't lie... I miss seeing those two sweet babies every day. 🥺 But I also have to admit, being able to feed and care for everyone here without getting screamed at by two bottle babies the entire time has been kind of nice. 😂 If you know, you know!

Now for the garden...

Whew. Florida has not been kind this year. 🥵 Between the relentless heat and the bugs, it's taken a pretty good beating.

Our pumpkin patch had to be harvested much earlier than I would've liked and cut back quite a bit after our snake encounter the other night—and so we could move our camper out to the Keystone property. It was definitely a bittersweet moment. I was so excited to make more progress toward our move, but watching a garden you've poured months into get mowed down while it's still producing... that one hurt. I may have shed a tear. 🫣😅

The good news? We still ended up with a few beautiful pumpkins! They probably won't make it to Halloween, but our dogs and livestock are going to think they're the best treats ever. 🎃❤️

The corn unfortunately became a buffet for bugs... and I'm pretty sure a few wild rabbits had their fair share too. 😒 So what was left got fed to our own animals instead.

At this point, the front garden is mostly squash and zucchini, and my giant sunflower—the one I never expected to get so tall—finally reached the shade cloth... and snapped over just as it was about to bloom. 😭

That's gardening, though. Some seasons humble you, some surprise you, and every season teaches you something new. We'll be back at it before we know it. 🌱💚

😬🐍 New fear unlocked here on the farm... 🫠

Last night, while Ben was doing our usual nightly routine of closing coops and checking on all the animals, he got to our big chicken coop and caught something moving FAST... inside the coop.

Now let me pause the story for a second...

It was DARK. Around 9:00–9:30 PM. It had just started raining.

Our first thought? "Oh, it's probably our friendly black racer or that beautiful corn snake that hangs around the property."

So Ben runs inside, grabs me and a flashlight, and we take off back toward the coop to relocate our little "buddy." As we're RUNNING back, the bottom absolutely falls out of the sky. It's POURING, lightning is striking so close it's lighting everything up like daylight, and for some reason Ben decides to grab a shovel as we pass it.

Thank. Goodness. He. Did.

The second the flashlight hit this thing... my heart about came out of my chest. 😳

It wasn't our friendly neighborhood snake.

It was a 3-foot, thick Cottonmouth... INSIDE MY CHICKEN COOP. 😬

Panic may have mostly been coming from me... but I think that's justified. 🫣😂

By the grace of God, every single chicken was okay. The pigs were fine, the rabbits were fine, and thankfully we found it before anything happened.

We spent a few minutes weighing our options because we don't like killing wildlife when we can avoid it. But with this snake being inside the coop, around our livestock, our kids, our dogs, and in a neighborhood where other families and pets are nearby, we felt the safest and most responsible decision was to dispatch it.

Needless to say... boots and the buddy system are going to be mandatory around here for a while. 😅

😂🐺 Well... today reminded me exactly why I left grooming. 🤣

Years ago I walked away from professional grooming because it had become more miserable work than something I actually enjoyed.

Then... for some reason... I thought getting a Husky was a great idea. 🫠😭

Today Kota got the full spa treatment:
✂️ Light belly strip to help with the heat
💨 Complete de-shed and blow out
🐾 Feet and t**h trim
💅 Much-needed nail trim

Needless to say... he's a WHOLE new man and looks fantastic considering all I have on hand is a old dull pair of grooming scissors, a comb,a hair dryer,and a de-shedding brush😍

He also left behind enough fur to make an entirely new floofy dog. 😂 (Nothing goes to waste around here though—I save his fur to use when we breed our rabbits! 🐇)

I started at 9:30 this morning and finally wrapped up around 12:30... and that doesn't even include cleaning up all the fur afterward. GAHLEE. 😅

At one point our oldest asked, "Why don't you go back to grooming professionally?"

Meanwhile, I was standing there vacuuming fur off myself and trying to pick Husky hair out of my mouth... all I could do was laugh. 🤣🤦‍♀️

Huge shoutout to all the groomers and fellow long-haired dog owners out there. Y'all are the real MVPs. SHOW ME YOUR WORK AND/OR WALKING HAIR BALLS🤣❤️👏
