Fork Creek Farm

Fork Creek Farm Central Virginia Pasture-Based farm currently specializing in Free-Range duck and chicken eggs, goat milk herdshares, goat milk soap, and Red Wattle Pork.

We will be adding more as we can! Fork Creek Farm is a locally owned and managed natural, free-range, pasture based farm. We do our best to adhere to our high standards of sustainable and holistic farm practices in all of our farming operations. Healthy, happy animals and rich, fertile soil always yield the best nutrition for our bodies and souls. We are still in the process of growing our flocks

and gardens, and do not have all of our products available at this time. Currently we are offering free-range, natural duck eggs, goat milk herdshares, goat milk soap, and pasture-raised Red Wattle pork! Our long term goals include earning Animal Welfare Approved status. Being a central Virginia farm, we are also very involved in the Local Food movement. We are working with local stores and restaurants to deliver high quality, locally produced meat and eggs to our surrounding markets. Please check back with us often for updates, helpful hints, recipes, and more! Thanks for stopping in.

Sorry for the delayed post! Imogen and I had a blast at the innaugural Dairy Goat Society of Virginia show over the weekend. It was a lovely bunch of people putting on a great show. Looking forward to next year. I had been asked back in April to be show secretary, and of course said yes, but we also decided to bring sweet little Bagel. She wasn't too pleased we left her half sister, Ebony at home (nor was Ebony, her indignation pictured), but we had fun hanging out with her. She won Reserve Champion Recorded Grade junior twice. So that now gives her 3 little green ribbons. And to have to be second fiddle, I'm happy it was behind the gorgeous concert mistress, Keiko, of Robin 's! She is stunning! So now we look forward to showing at the Virginia State Fair, then rest easy till the Doe-Nut show in spring!

Very excited about our show results today! As many of you know, I am permanent show secretary at Son of a Buck Show, but today I also brought my best guy, Fork Creek Edate (https://genetics.adga.org/GoatDetail.aspx?RegNumber=B002173026). In AOP, all Alpines and he the only Oberhasli, he managed to whip out Reserve Champion under Arika Zeiter and Grand Champion under Kristopher Fraley! Yay, Edate! Great work buddy!

It's been fun finally getting back into showing, and we are having a great year! Little Bagel (https://genetics.adga.org/GoatDetail.aspx?RegNumber=E002436415) also earning Reserve Champion at the SOBS Doe-Nut show this past April in a pretty competitive Recorded Grade show. Hopefully she will find similar success in two weeks when I will be secretarying for the Innaugural Dairy Goat Society of Virginia show!
