Betty Lou Farm

Betty Lou Farm Betty Lou Farms is a haven for our family, friends and animals. Created in loving memory of our parents, Russell McCann and Richard and Betty Dyer.

Set in beautiful rural Georgia, Betty Lou Farms was started by John and Terri Dyer in loving memory of John's mom, Betty Lou Dyer and Terri's father, Russell McCann. We raise chickens for eggs, guinea fowl as our alarm system, Peacocks for their beauty and our pack of dogs who love us even on the toughest of days.

Thank you to all of our farm friends who adopted this years peachicks! We appreciate all of you and it speaks volumes to us that almost everyone was a repeat adopter!!

The mornings are the best time of the day this time of year... by 11am it is scorching hot. Man nor animal enjoys this oppressive heat.

Marty (the amazing Maremma) goes into the barn at the top pasture where it's shady and has his fan blowing on him. He's up all night, so he sleeps during the heat of the day... but always with one eye open. He misses nothing and if someone or something that doesn't belong wanders onto his territory, we are notified immediately!

This year's peachicks have all gone onto their new homes. We've kept a few to grow out. Spaldings (green) and IBBS's. We want to see how they grow, especially the Spalding growouts!

**Since we do get new adopters that have little or no experience with peacocks and we know all the information on their care can be overwhelming, we've decided next season to add a little something (an adoption kit!) We hope this will help you grow in your love of peacocks 🦚 ❤️

Have a beautiful Sunday!! Stay cool, stay hydrated 😎

Look at these two Father's Day peachick's... one Spalding and one IBBS. Love waking up to newly hatched chick's.

Our neighbor took a picture of our guineas with their keets visiting her property.

These birds range quite a bit, luckily our neighbors don't seem to mind.
