Hello farm family and friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we share this update. Our dear friend Tina, who many have seen and worked with helping in the craft shop in the last several years has finally ended her battle with cancer and has gone to be with our great Maker, Redeemer, and Comforter in heaven. Through her life, she has always been a bright shining light with a great big personality, both of which were extremely infectious in the best of ways. Like all of us at the farm, Tina was a “mover and shaker” kind of person, always having to be on the go doing something. We loved her for that, and she fit right in. Even when we pulled long hours getting everything ready to open for the season, she would find a way to make us laugh, smile, and remember the work we were doing mattered and made a difference in so many lives.
She always made everyone she interacted with on and off the farm feel heard and seen in such a tangible way. Even the shyest of children would be more than happy to get a candy cane or coloring book from her on the way out the door. She always made a real connection with everyone no matter who they were.
Tina’s battle with cancer was a tough one, and we helped support her however we could. Including this last year on the farm, we had some extra crafts in the shop that Tina made as a way to do something constructive and positive to keep her mind of the negativity of her battle with cancer. She was proud of them, and we were more than happy to have them in craft shop. She made it out to the farm every day we were open and helped at the register as she always has, albeit she was a little slower this year as we all knew her battle with cancer was coming closer to the end. Checkout time took a little longer, but it gave her purpose in a difficult time, and you all made those days so special for her. We greatly appreciated your patience through that process this last Christmas tree season.
We know Tina wouldn’t want us to focus on the sadness too much when there are so many good things in life to celebrate. So with that, we ask if you have a favorite memory you’d like to share, whether it be with her or just an experience on the farm, feel free to send us a message, and we can relay those fun stories to Tina’s family. It is a small but easy way to show the love and kindness that she helped spread in the world.
For now, we grieve the loss of a dear friend and honorary family member in Tina, and we celebrate the life she lived and the difference she made in the world. She is no longer in any pain, and her earthly body no longer slows her down. She is with us in our hearts and is embodied in the good work we do to share love and kindness in the world. Hug your friends and family tight, and don’t forget to tell them often how much they mean to you and that you love them. Take time to slow down and experience life and have a real conversation with a stranger. You just might run into another “Tina” or you might be the “Tina” that someone else needs to meet.
We love Tina dearly. Blessed be her memory.
With love,
-The Rineharts, and everyone in the Rustic Pines Tree Farm & Crafts Family
