I love a good clean breeding and gestation environment for my livestock. Took the opportunity in the early July heat wave to wash this Arts Way building while sows were still in farrowing with litters. Breeding plans are coming together for the next round!

We live about an hour from the Armstrong crew here in Illinois. This picture was taken in the spring of 2026 on a trip to pick up boar semen. But it means much more than that to me. I’m with my young daughter Kendra, who had the chance to meet Bob Armstrong, a legend in the business. I was talking with Bob and thought let’s get Kendra out of the truck and take a picture. So we did it. I like working with JR and Bob Armstrong. Bob reminds me of my grandfathers, and any time with my daughters is time well spent. Litters are on the ground now and looks like we have something interesting for the SW barrow deal.

Had a goal of making this summer pig crop flat good, and I'm excited to finally announce our lineup. After countless hours of discussion and planning with the crew, we believe we've put together our strongest set yet.

Our very best females have been mated to some of the best boars in the industry, and we're looking forward to seeing the results. Be sure to watch for upcoming sales and offerings.

Kendra and Reagan helped me deliver Showpigs this afternoon and we had fun.

After all, it is NATIONAL PIG DAY.

What did we learn?
1. There are many decorated bulldog statues in the city of Macomb, Illinois
2. When given the choice between McDonalds and Los Charros, it’s not even close

We are humbled by the success of our online sale last night. Thanks to all who bid, bought, and supported us. We ask that buyers please be making plans for pickup/delivery of your animals as some have already been doing so. If you are still interested in buying pigs, off the farm pre-priced sales begin today.

We invite you to the farm at Kilbourne, IL today to spend time with us, relax with friends, and evaluate a number of Showpigs that will be for sale next week.

Notes for today-
1. Turn into the driveway near the sign.
2. Park in the open area between the road and the Showpig facility.
3. Enter the facility through the south door.
4. Put the provided blue shoe covers on before going inside.
5. Upon leaving discard the blue shoe covers in trash cans outside.
