Here is your look at Monday's market report!
One thing I am hearing over and over is "Man, that market must be down"
The answer, yes the market is back from where it was 2 months ago, but this market is still plenty high. There is no need to panic, it is October and this is the trend every year.
October scenario, sale barn numbers are up, grazers are planting grass but have no grass, yards are getting full, and feeders are fighting sickness due to hot days and cold nights. There are other factors that vary but these are the year to year factors that cause us to see a slight drop in fall calf prices.
This year is unique in that even though the market is taking its fall dip, the prices are still worth enough to make a little money on and that is the name of the game.
The thing to remember is that there still are not enough cattle nationwide so the prediction is that this spring we will be right back to those high cattle that we have all grown accustomed to.
What I would suggest, is to use this time to try to replace some of those cattle we culled while kill prices were so high. If we replace now we will be ready for those spring prices. A good time to look at replacing is DECEMBER 11th! Right here at Kinder Livestock we will have a Replacement Sale. We already have some good heifers consigned and others talking. You don't wont to miss this opportunity.
