Though its the warmest time of year, winter is always just around the corner! Last fall a friend's daughter shot her first deer. Wanting to commemorate the milestone, he brought me the hide. I just got it back from the tannery and turned it into a pair of mittens. She wanted it trimmed with beaver fur, and I had some beautiful soft pieces left from last year. Every time she wears these she will remember that November day with her dad. If you shoot a deer this fall, consider having it made in mittens. I can make them in mens or women's sizes and have a variety of fur to use for trim.
