Hey, you guys! Guess what finally happened?!
Larry And Lynn have finally figured out how to properly nest and hatch babies! We are so excited to finally have our first geese hatching on our Homestead.

As you can see in the video, they are very proud, protective parents. To be fair, Larry can sometimes be a complete bu****le when breeding season hits, but at least now he has a good reason to be 😂 ❤️

Working hard on getting our home ready for my daughter and two grandbabies to move in this week. I have a surprise I’ve been working on!

I’m exhausted, but it’ll be worth the smiles!
Made a stop at the The Pink Poodle Ice Cream, LLC in Colonial Beach earlier to enjoy after a long day, well, really a long week. I put it in the freezer for when I was done for the day. I am officially done for the day. I don’t eat a lot of ice cream, but boy do I love a good banana split 🍨

Today we laid this sweet ole dog “Smokey” to rest. It was a hard day for everyone. He was our oldest daughter’s dog that’s been living with us for the past several months and we got quite attached to his sweet face and loving personality.

She adopted him years ago, already an old man, and gave him the love he deserved. Estimated to be between 15-17 years old, she gave him the best life a dog could ask for. I’m glad we got to be a part of the love that he had to give.

He loved most people, tolerated some. He loved cheese and getting some side snacks from a plate or two (or three 😂). He was a sunshine baby and didn’t really like the cold. So many good things about Smokey, too many to list.

Rest in Peace buddy. Say hello to Belle for us and enjoy those golden fields of sunshine.

We lost Peter today 😭 He was such a sweet boy and a wonderful buck to our ladies. He will truly be missed here on our little homestead. Thank you Peter for all the beautiful babies you’ve sired.

These days are the hardest. Homesteading isn’t always sunny skies and rainbows. Rest in Peace
