Wind Haven farm is a small flower farm in King William County, Virginia. A few years ago, I had the idea to start a flower farm after discovering what makes me happy in life: beauty, creativity, and community. My husband Paul, and I, with our team of 7-8 employees and volunteers a

re farming on a 7 acre field surrounded by woods on family land. We just moved our farm here in the winter of 2021. When covid came, we were moving the farm and continuing to farm at our previous farm while completing our barn! somehow we made it through in time to move, and start a new season! We are now at our forever home after years of planning! We are adding perennial flowers, bulbs, trees and bushes to our new farm and we can't wait to see it all mature in 4-6 years from now! We have made the choice that we want to continue to be a part of local CSA’s, local grocers, and florist operations. Those are the people who are making a huge difference in awareness in our food, flowers and agriculture, (as well as spreading beauty and creativity into our lives) and we want to support them as much as possible. Thanks to everyone for choosing to support our dream by buying our flowers. You are making our dream a reality, and making a difference in your community by buying locally and sustainably. We are trying to update this page regularly with pictures of what we have available, and with flower arrangements I have made for the CSA and other events.

Just another reason to grow the wild orange butterfly w**d in your garden! We harvest the flowers for our clients but I have aome in my home garden as well and they are buzzing with pollinators both butterflies and bees!

The flowers QUEENS are in season! Peonies are a long term investment. The roots are quite expensive to plant in large numbers. You cant harvest them for the first 3 years. After that though, if they are happy they can live 100 years! There is nothing like a giant romantic peony bloom that smells like heaven!

The first one is too young. They just were planted last Fall. So they have 2 more years before we can harvest them.

We are harvesting the last two, Bowl of Cream and Miss America.

This is Mothers Day week everyone! Be sure to support local businesses, florists and boutiques! It makes all the difference to all of us!

We will be posting tomorrow where you will be able to purchase our flowers this week, you should also call and order ahead if you can.

Another morning vibe.... for a cabinet top. I love the way the darks can set off the lighter colors. The fun little floaters up top are wild sorrel flowers.

Then, in the last two photos, sometimes all you need is a great big heavy bud vase with a branch of fringe tree flowers and foliage in your window. With a pinch of some type of landscaping Spirea maroon buds. Haha this is how I do a lot of my vase trials!

Say what!? Lisianthus! Definitely some wild things happening with all these extreme temperature swings VA has had this year. Dont get too excited wholesale clients not for sale yet. Haha! Here are some beautiful little glimpses of our high tunnel crops over the last few weeks! They have been truly amazing!

Spring has been a bit wild so far with wild temperature swings here in VA. So we have been running to keep ahead of it but we are doing great and sending many thousands of flowers out into our local community weekly through our amazing wholesale clients!

Mothers Day is coming up in two weeks! Everyone buy local flowers from local businesses for your Mommas! Call florist shops directly with their local numbers not floral wire services if you can help it. The florists are supported more in this way!

This is the best thing you can do, buy local! You will be supporting little local family run businesses, their employees, small farmers and our employees as well! The cycle goes on and on!
