Edelweiss prides itself on being a traditional German delicatessen and caterer, which is exceedingly hard to find in these days of fast food and pre-packaged items. We make all our own food on premises with our own special recipes. The taste and quality of our sandwiches, salads, soups & entrees cannot be matched by the typical deli to be found today. We also offer many foods & meats that are difficult to find elsewhere, including imported German beers. We invite you to taste the difference...a delicatessen the way it was meant to be! Edelweiss Delicatessen opened in 1990, but the family has been in the delicatessen business going back to the 1950's. There are several successful delicatessens on Long Island still in operation today that were originally opened by the Henning's family. Edelweiss owner, David Hennings, is a graduate of the prestigious Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts School.
