Almost touching 90 inches tip-to-tip, this girl’s horns are every bit as impressive as her personality. 🤠🐂

She’s one of the matriarchs of Pellegrino Ranch, and she carries herself like one. Years of raising beautiful calves have earned her a special place in our herd.

But despite those massive horns, she’s about as gentle as a big puppy dog. She’ll walk right up to us looking for attention and absolutely loves getting her head scratched.

This young Longhorn is already showing the beautiful color, markings, and horn development we love to see at Pellegrino Ranch. But what really makes her special is her personality.

She is hands down the friendliest cow on the ranch. She’ll walk right up to us, lets us pet her, and has one of the sweetest, calmest temperaments you could ask for. With Longhorns, looks may catch your attention, but a great disposition makes them truly special.

Beautiful, gentle, and an absolute sweetheart. We’re excited to watch this girl grow up.

This girl has everything we love to see — striking color, beautiful speckling, a strong frame, and an impressive set of horns that gives her that unmistakable Texas Longhorn presence.

Every Longhorn has its own look and personality, and she certainly doesn’t blend into the herd. Bold, beautiful, and uniquely Texas.

There’s something special about the old girls of the ranch. ❤️🐂

She may be one of the older cows here at Pellegrino Ranch, but she still carries herself with the kind of beauty and presence that only gets better with age. Her gorgeous burnt-orange coloring, classic Longhorn look, and years of wisdom make her pretty hard to overlook.

But what we appreciate most about her is what she continues to do year after year — raise beautiful calves. She’s been a dependable producer and the kind of cow that quietly proves her value every calving season.

Old, wise, beautiful, and still getting the job done. That’s the kind of cow you’re proud to have growing old on your ranch.

In honor of Cowboy Tuff Chex — and a reminder that sometimes it only takes one. 🤘

My very first experience with artificial insemination was certainly one to remember. I decided to roll the dice and tried breeding 12 different cows to Cowboy Tuff Chex via straws I had purchased. After all the time, expense, and anticipation… only one took.

And this beautiful girl was the result.

Was it an expensive way to end up with one calf? Absolutely.

Cowboy Tuff Chex will forever be remembered as one of the great bulls in Texas Longhorn history, and having a direct daughter of Cowboy Tuff Chex here at Pellegrino Ranch makes that first AI experience more than worth it.

Twelve attempts. One pregnancy. One very special cow. Sometimes one is all you need.

As the sun drops behind the oaks and another day comes to an end, there’s something special about watching a Texas Longhorn wade into the pond for one last drink.

These cattle are more than part of the landscape — they’re part of the history of Texas. Tough, independent, unmistakable, and still roaming these pastures generations later.

This beautiful girl is exactly what we love about the breed — big sweeping horns, tremendous color, a strong frame, and that unmistakable Longhorn presence.

A Piece of Texas History Still Walking the Pasture. 🇨🇱🐂

Long before highways crossed Texas and cities filled the horizon, Longhorns traveled the open range. They survived drought, heat, long cattle drives and some of the toughest country in America — eventually becoming one of the most recognizable symbols of the Lone Star State.

Looking at these two coming across the pasture, it’s easy to imagine a scene that could have taken place more than a century ago.
