A bittersweet chapter closed for us on Saturday as we said goodbye to KK The Valedictorian. We’ve officially sold our remaining half interest to B Square Ranch.

While he’s moving forward under their program, we’ll always carry the pride of being his breeders. The legacy he represents is one we know well because those same powerful genetics run deep within our herd.

In support of Adrian and the entire Garza family, Buena Vida Cattle is offering a grade 1 sexed heifer embryo that is a full sibling to KK Swagger’s Gigi, the 2023 National Champion Star 5 Female. Bred by us and exhibited by Blaine Gibson and Crosswinds Ranch.

This mating is the product of the sire of 3 National Champions- Hefte F19 Pure Swagger, and CWR Goldie Girl who was a donated heifer from Crosswinds Ranch. This GRADE 1 SEXED HEIFER embryo will result in a ¾ Star Five female, and if she turns out anything like her sister, she will be classy and feminine, while still carrying so much dimension and mass. Gigi was moderate, big hipped, and fancy fronted, while still being functional. This heifer has the potential to compete in any showring, against all sorts of ARB crosses and still standout. Showring phenotype and donor cow potential all in one package, backed by some of the best genetics in the breed.

This is the first time any of these embryos or breeding have been let go and we’re proud to support the Garza family in any way that we can during this time.

Sarabi was sold as an embryo in our Swags to Riches Sale and raised by Circle L Farms – The Lampo Family. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching our genetics leave Buena Vida and help others reach the backdrop.

Even more special, Sarabi earns this title five years after her full sister, KK Valley Girl did the same. Consistency like that is no accident. It’s the kind of generational quality we strive for in every mating decision, and this mating continues to stand the test of time.

It is with deep gratitude that we’re proud to share a special accomplishment that is the result of years of selection, hard work, and the support and guidance of many along the way.

We are proud to congratulate Rhett Harrington on his 2026 National Champion Santa Gertrudis Female, bred by us. This exceptional heifer was purchased as an embryo and is the full sister to KK Valley Girl and daughter of KK Sabes Un Valiente ET.

Since 2019, our program has produced seven National Santa Gertrudis Champions:
- Six as the breeder
- One we were fortunate to purchase from a tremendous breeder
- Three National Junior Champions
- Four National Open Champions

In 2022, we hosted our first—and so far only “Swags to Riches” Sale, which directly produced three National Champions: the 2023 National Champion Bull, the 2023 National Champion Star 5, and the 2026 National Champion Female. To our knowledge, no other single sale in the breed has achieved this milestone.
