⚠️ Heavy rain and thunderstorms moved through Starr County early this morning—but that didn’t stop the Texas Department of Public Safety - South Texas Region Brush Team and the US Border Patrol in the RGV from carrying out an anti-smuggling operation in Roma.

During the operation, 14 illegal immigrants were apprehended, all wearing colored wristbands indicating payment to the cartel for passage into the U.S. One of the illegal immigrants was also wanted for DWI.

No matter the weather conditions or terrain, our teams remain committed to public safety, preventing gotaways, and protecting our communities as part of Operation Lone Star.
