Meet Helga and Maple — our future milkers and the next step towards our vision of the farm!
🥛 💛 🐮

These two heifers were born right here on the farm in the Summer/Autumn 2024. 🐄🌼

We moved them into their own pen to begin the next stage. They’re currently being weaned from their mamas, so we’re giving them a little time to adjust and settle in.
After that, we’ll begin handling and training to prepare them for their future roles as part of our milking cows.

Maple is the brown heifer. She is a full Dexter.
Helga is the black one. She is a Belfair. Half Dexter/Half Jersey.

The woods are absolutely bursting with trillium blooms this year — I’ve never seen so many at once since we moved up here!

What a marvelous Spring day. The sun is shining, a cool breeze and I’m out here rototilling our garden area.
Super excited to be planting a huge garden this year! —nothing like the smell of fresh dirt and the promise of homegrown veggies.
Let the gardening season begin!

I wish I had remembered to take a before picture, but here's to completing my first big project with the tractor! I created a path through the woods, allowing me to access the back of the goat pen without driving through the yard. This path was relatively easy to clear, with just about 30 saplings to remove and a few monster mini hills to smooth out.

We kept 3 feeders for spring harvest.
It’s amusing to see these little ones roaming freely around the farm! 😅 They’ve managed to squeeze through the gate for now, but that won’t last much longer. They enjoy spending time with the bull and the horses, and they can’t resist teasing the pups. 😅 It’s quite amusing to watch them!

🌟 Big News on the Farm! 🌟

I am beyond excited to share that we finally have a tractor! 🚜💖

What I’m most excited for with this tractor and ALL of its implements😅……. Is we can finally speed up our progress as we work our way through the
woods. My goal of establishing a beautiful silvopasture is now closer
than ever! 🌳🌱

Clearing the land means plenty of bonfires!

This tree was hollow and mostly dead.
It was fascinating watching the fire inside.

ETA: All are sold. 😊

Hey Friends!!

I decided to downsize ALOT!
My goal is too focus on my lovely cattle herd… so please help me spread the word 😊 I’m very motivated! 😅
1. Kunekune - A breeding pair of Kunekunes. They are registered, wonderful parents. Very friendly and loveable. Litter average of 6-9. Feeders usually sell for $100-150 each. Or you can register some piglets and sell for registered prices. I really want her to go soon, before she pops!
2. Peahens- I have 2 I would like them to go together. They just started laying eggs!
3. Nubians- a mini moonspotted buck, very friendly.
4. A mini Nubian moonspotted doeling. Ready to breed now!!! Will be 2 in spring!
5. Barn cats!- some free, some kittens are already spayed/neutered and vaccinated. I’ll be asking a fee for those ones. 😁
