Six years ago, just a couple months before her wedding, COVID changed everything. My daughter was sent on an early deployment and didn’t come home for 11 months. The wedding was canceled, life moved fast, and somehow her wedding dress went into a box and stayed there. She never even put it on again.
Now here we are six years later, with her and her husband visiting for a month, and I decided it was finally time. So Saturday evening, one of my dearest friends and incredibly talented photographer, Rhonda Gregory (), came over and we wandered through the fields taking pictures while the sun went down.
I made a couple bouquets and little arbor using flowers grown right here on our farm, which somehow made it all feel even more special.
Seeing my firstborn back in her wedding gown after all these years was a Mother’s Day gift I didn’t know I needed. Their anniversary is in two weeks, and I’m so grateful we finally captured these moments
