Exchange Place is currently open only by appointment or for special events. Our next special event will be the Spring Garden Fair on April 29th and 30th, 2023. Special tours may be arranged at other times by contacting us at (423) 288-6071. In addition to tours, please remember that Exchange Place's grounds are now available for rental for photography sessions for only $30 per hour! Requests to ta

ke photos on the property must be made at least one week in advance in order that a volunteer can be scheduled to be on site. Please call Exchange Place at (423) 288-6071 to schedule an appointment. All proceeds go to support the site's restoration, maintenance, educational programs, and animal care. Thank you for your support!

Exchange Place interprets the year 1851, including keeping the breeds of animals that would have been found on the farm back then. Next time you visit, but sure to check out the Dominikkers in the chicken yard down by the garden. Not only are these birds pretty, they're practical too!

Did you know?

The Dominique is America's oldest chicken breed and was a familiar sight on farms throughout the 1800s. Many people remember hearing their grandparents call them "Dominikkers."

Listed as Watch on the Conservation Priority List, this historic breed is still being conserved today. Learn more (link in comments!)
