Oh hello! 👋
I’m standing in my kitchen staring at my starter… it’s finally starting to wake up. 🥹 Bread will be baked fresh tomorrow, and I’ll post as soon as it’s ready. 🥖
I made a huge batch of starter Monday night, but after a very, very busy work weekend, I was just too tired to bake. The upside? I now have a big tub of discard that’s about to become Cosmic Brownies, and I’m going to play around with the Dubai brownies again. 🤤
The next few weeks are packed, and timing my starter around work and the triplets’ activities is definitely a challenge. If I can catch it at just the right time… we’ll have bread. 🙂
Also… I may have bought a bread oven. 😂 The shipping time was 5–6 weeks, so it should be here soon. No more third-degree burns on my arms taking hot Dutch ovens in and out! (Follow me for more ways to justify less-than-financially-responsible purchases. 🙃)
So keep an eye out for sweet treats today… and fresh bread tomorrow! 🩷
One thing I’ve been brainstorming…
I don’t want to change the way the stand works. This is my hobby, and I genuinely enjoy feeding people. Every dollar that comes in goes right back into ingredients, and I hope anyone who’s needed something—or simply didn’t have cash when they stopped by—has felt comfortable taking what they needed.
And to everyone who has been able to pay… thank you. You make this little dream possible. ❤️
I’m trying not to think about winter yet, but cold weather makes bread go stale much faster in the stand. I’m starting to brainstorm ways to get fresh bread into people’s hands without changing what makes the stand special. If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them! 💡
One thing I do know is that I intentionally don’t have a trail camera on the shed. I want people to feel safe taking what they need without feeling watched.
Anyway… this post got a little longer than I intended. 😂
Back to the brownies! 🤤🤤🤤
