Well done, my little lady. TPF Uno, otter junior doe, went out of her junior season with a bang! Best of Breed at the West GA Show. Uno was 7th place otter junior doe at Nationals at 3.5 months. I have loved her since the day she popped out of the nest box. On the Best in Show table she received a shout out and I appreciated the acknowledgment.

Exhibit A…Vale’ 🤦🏻‍♀️

PS…the GoFundMe is a joke. We are fine. But I accept ChickFila gift cards for my pain and suffering. 🤣

With our kidding season over, we are ready to move some of our does, bucks and kids on to new pastures.
We are very fortunate to have the Higher Ground Farm bloodline running deep and wide in our herd. The past two years, HGF Leviticus has been our herd sire. He has thrown flashy kids as he is quite flashy himself. Now he is looking for a new herd. He’s a dutiful breeder. His son, TPF Chief, was RIS at the Shenandoah Fiber Festival as a kid buck. Chief is also looking to move on. I have unrelated does that could leave with either buck, though some does haven’t weaned their kids yet.

We are The Twisted Peach Mohair Farm in Kingston, GA. We are planning to attend Michigan Fiber Festival and could hold until then if arrangements are made ahead.

We have 4 beautiful bucklings this season from Leviticus of whom all are worthy of registration, but they can also go as wethers.

Only bucks can leave alone. All does, bucklings, and wethers will leave in pairs.

Looking to move:
HGF Leviticus (3 year old red buck) *PENDING*
TPF Chief (red yearling buck) *SOLD*
TPF Vivi Anne (2 year old black doe) Vivi Anne will be available after her daughter weans. *SOLD*
TPF Jingle (red yearling doe)
TPF Cecelia (brown 2 year old doe) Cecelia will be ready after her daughter weans. *SOLD*
TPF Sylvanus (flashy red buckling)
TPF Rafael ( flashy red buck) could go as a wether or be registered
TPF Paul apricot buckling could go as a wether or be registered.
TPF Nancy and Ellen twin apricot doelings (must go together or one with Ethel) *SOLD*
TPF Ethel red doeling with white *SOLD*

Some of the kids are ready to leave and some will be ready within the month. PM for inquiries and pricing.

Our final goat kidded yesterday in the pasture. We came home and found Clio’ keeping the goats and other dogs at bay to protect ViviAnn and her kid. This year, I named all my doelings after my aunts. But I’ve been holding onto the most special name in hopes I would get a black doeling. My last kidding …I got my girl…my blue-eyed little lady. Meet TPF’s Luella! We’ve been waiting for you!

A rough start for our newest arrival. Mama had a tough labor which made things tough on her little man. She was weak and exhausted, as was he. Her colostrum was thick like sugary syrup and clogged her teats. He went an entire night without food. I found him cold and getting weaker the next morning. After a night at the house and continual milking of mom and bottle feeding him, little Ralphie was finally strong enough to demand milk from his mom and search for it on day 3. His first happy jumps in the barn were caught immediately after he filled his belly from his mama for the first time. This morning, he was climbing the straw mountain and playing like he should. It was a group effort to keep him going. Even the puppies helped! Welcome to the farm, Ralphie!

March is definitely coming in like a lion. I’ll be spending the night at the barn as I wait on a few ladies to kid. At least my view is lovely.
