“Is something burning?” 😬
- Literally every house in Western Washington this week.

Relax, it’s (probably) just dust. It settles on the heating parts all summer and burns off the first few times the heat kicks on. It should fade within a few hours.

What’s not normal: a smell that sticks around, anything that smells electrical, or rooms that never warm up no matter what the thermostat says.

That’s usually how it goes with a whole-home system. Nothing dramatic on day one. Then a few showers in, you notice your skin doesn’t feel tight, the glasses come out of the dishwasher without spots, and the water just tastes… normal. In a good way.

We see a lot of homes with water that can be tough on plumbing and not always great for drinking. In Port Orchard, we just finished installing a whole home pH Pro system and an Atlantis reverse osmosis setup so this family could count on clean, balanced water everywhere in the house.

Gurgling drains. A slow tub that wasn’t slow last month. A faint smell outside near where the sewer line runs.

Not exactly the kind of fall signs anyone gets excited about. 😅

But once Western Washington starts getting back into rain season, the stuff underground starts getting tested too — older lines, cracked joints, soft spots, and tree roots that spent all summer quietly growing toward the one pipe with water in it.
