Mulberry Run Mulberry Run has a Cidery and is an Event Venue. Music and loud conversation including laughter is to be expected here. This has always been so.

As early as 1973 there have been alcohol, laughter and bonfire partying activities on the property. (This precedent shall be adhered to now and in the future.)

Bald-faced hornet. Typically found in the south east US. If you see one you are 3’ from a nest containing 300 of them. They can sting repeatedly. I got stung once while separating seeds from over ripe paw paws. I am good but will watch out for them.

Someone backed into my driveway and over my large asparagus bush. 30’ off the road and 10’ off the lane. They almost hit the guy wires on the electric pole. I was planning to dig some of this up, soon major damage. Just stupid driving.

All done for now. 10 peach trees pruned. Now to clean up all the trimmings and put down liquid fish and sea w**d on all the trees. Well over 100. Looks like a few more days before I will move past orchard tasks.

Your trees are feeling the heat too 🌳☀️

High temperatures and limited rainfall can put stress on trees, especially young or recently planted ones.

During hot, dry conditions, pay attention to your tree and the moisture in the soil before reaching for the hose. Both too little and too much water can stress a tree and overwatering can contribute to tree decline.

When watering is needed, water slowly and deeply around the root zone rather than directly at the trunk. A layer of mulch can also help retain soil moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Watch for signs of stress, including wilting, leaf scorch, early leaf drop or canopy dieback.
