Calf #18 - Mama Cheyenne had this bull calf out in the front pasture easy breezy while her herd mates were all busy gathered around the hay feeder for dinner on a nice evening. Calf #17 - Just when you thought calving season must be over, Bianca the shorthorn cow thought she’d be sneaky and go as far away from the herd as possible in the back pasture to have her calf. We see you Bianca and your little calf too! Our Island Theme Bull Calves making a comeback after all the heifers we’ve had this year….what a handsome fella…here is Jamaica!! 🐮💚🇯🇲 17 Down, 4 to go!!

Calf #16 - This lil guy popped out when nobody was watching as that tends to happen more on round 2 when we are checking on them a bit less often. As I was feeding the “petting zoo” in the next pen over before rushing off to my other job, I seen him laying content just like this all dried off and did a double take. Yep you’re new here! Well you look like you’re doing well there lil guy, I got to go but Farmer Matt will be there as soon as he gets back from his other job to take care of you lol. It’s like that a lot around here, we have to do teamwork to manage things but we do a good job of it. And 1st time Mama Gracie did a good job on her end of it too so that is helpful for sure! Going with our Bull Calf Island Theme…Here is Mr. ARUBA, the tiniest Bull calf we’ve probably ever had! Tiny but Mighty, and as healthy as can be! 🐮🩵 16 Down, 5 to go!!

Calf #15 - We had a nice little break and now Round 2 of calving season has begun…round 1 was fast and furious and round 2 should trickle in as we only have the last 3rd left. If anybody is wondering, the “round 2” cows likely got bred on their second heat cycle with the bull vs the 1st…still completely normal. Our boys almost always get a calf born on their birthday and this year did not disappoint, we came home from their party to find this new heifer in the barn! They look forward to it and naming their “birthday cow”. Our son Mason named her after himself “the girl version of his name” as he says, Maci!! The whole thing is a lot of work so we try to have fun with it when we can! 🐮💝 15 Down, 6 to go!!

Calf #14 - All black Mama Maddy had this light colored heifer who definitely took after her Charolais dad’s genes! Calves #12 & #13 - Our mamas love to have calves at the same time around here and finishing out our standing record of 4 in 24 hours (which seems to happen each year!) is Bull Calves (St.) Kitts & Nevis!! Don’t mind Nevis, his mom likes to hide him away in the hay every time I see him 😆🐮🐮 13 Down, 8 to go!!

Calf #9 - First time Mama Meryl had been in the birthing suite for about a week with no action going on and we started to think she would never calve. Then Finally out pops another heifer! She had no trouble delivering for the first time and it’s always interesting watching them afterwards like Who is this tiny creature in the pen with me?! lol She is proving to be a great mother though to baby Mary! Let’s keep this streak going! 🐮💜 9 Down, 12 to go!!

Calf #8 - We are Crankin them out now! Big Mama Maizie had this gal out in the dry lot, easy breezy!! Papa Charlie Charolais did a good job before he left. We’ll name her Charli after him! Heifers are way outnumbering Bull calfs now! 🐮💛 8 Down, 13 to Go!!
