🐷 Breakfast Time at Little Woods Farm! 🥛
For newborn piglets, breakfast isn’t just the most important meal of the day—it’s happening all day long!
During their first few weeks of life, piglets nurse frequently, often every 30–60 minutes. Mom’s milk provides the calories, protein, fat and antibodies they need to grow quickly and stay healthy.
A few fun piglet facts:
🐽 Piglets learn very quickly which teat is “theirs” and will often return to the same spot at the milk bar each time they nurse.
🥛 The first milk, called colostrum, is especially important. Newborn piglets need to get plenty of it during their first hours of life because it provides essential antibodies and energy.
📈 Piglets grow incredibly fast—healthy piglets can more than double their birth weight in the first couple of weeks.
😴 And after breakfast? Usually it’s straight back to piling together with their brothers and sisters for another nap!
These little guys definitely have the routine figured out: eat, sleep, grow, repeat. ❤️🐷
