Rushing Duck Brewing made a barleywine for their 14th anniversary last weekend—a nod to , brewed with vanilla, lactose & panela sugar. And I can confirm: it is SO GOOD.

We’ve been going to The Duck since the beginning, and I love these guys. So, yeah, this one feels extra special.

They only have a few cases left, so go get some! 🍻

TL;DR: dinner was great, leftovers even better.

Dave’s been playing around with Nagi & Dozer - RecipeTin Eats’s Vietnamese Caramelised Pork Bowls for a while now, putting his own spin on them with & home-raised pork. This time he also added homegrown zucchini and foraged milk caps + chanterelles.

And since last night’s family dinner was a hurried affair thanks to everyone’s busy schedules, I’m particularly happy to have a moment to appreciate just how much work went into this meal before he even started cooking.

I didn’t bring my Caramel Pretzel Pecan Blondies last year and, well…let’s just say I heard about it. So, I’m making up for it this year—a fresh batch is coming with me!

Sunday dinner, summer edition.

So much of what ended up on our table was homegrown, from the lamb and pork to the lettuce and peaches. Huge thanks to the and —and, of course, to Dave, who does the bulk of the agricultural around here.

Winterthur Artisan Market, one of my favorite events of the year, is almost here. 💚

There are artisan markets...and then there’s Winterthur. Set on the beautiful grounds of Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, it’s the kind of place where you can easily spend the day (or better yet, make a weekend of it!) wandering the gardens, shopping from incredibly talented makers, enjoying great food and drink, and soaking up the atmosphere.

I’ll be there alongside an incredible lineup of artisans. I hope you’ll join us—I have a feeling you’ll quickly understand why this is one of my favorite events of the year. 😊

That’s my mom, dad, and me, and quite possibly the very beginning of my love of ice cream. 🍦

I spent many a childhood summer enjoying ice cream from Weir’s, so collaborating on a specialty flavor with them all these years later feels like a pretty wonderful full-circle moment.

I’m delighted to report that Cara-Sel Carmelita will be returning in early June. 🤗
