As if....showing up at Eastern Market every single Saturday morning, unloading our wares and heading up to the Royal Oak Farmers Market were not a major achievement in itself-
at 2 p.m. our truck and trailer return to pick up what's left.
This involves our son backing up from the street between double and triple (haphazardly) parked cars and distracted pedestrians who surely assume he can see them. (He can't.)
It is amazing. Thinking of selling tickets and popcorn.
How does he do it? Just like Tow Mater does it. Mirrors.

Yes! Even with a skeleton crew we are finishing up for the night. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€Morning comes early-and we will be at both markets with nearly all of our products. Tiffany is headed out to the Kingston market tonight as we speak.
The corn we planted is up. It's been hot and we've had two moderate rains. We have been working up ground to plant sorghum sudangrass soon for fresh new pasture later in the summer.
The 60 big round bales we already have stored out back are enough to feed the cows for about a month come winter. We will soon be making more hay and continue to do so going through summer.

The first 60 bales of hay have been harvested and safely wrapped to feed the girls this winter. The bales on the end are old bales that protect the open end of the row from weather.
Yay, baling team!

Randy is home recovering from his second major surgery in 2 1/2 weeks. First was to relieve a pinched nerve in his neck. Second was to repair a badly torn rotator cuff and replace his worn out left shoulder joint. Whew.
Both surgeries went well. The pain is bad, so he is taking the maximum dose of painkillers that he can.
Thank you for the well wishes but he really needs to not be doing business or talking to humans at this time. ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

And yes, the baker is using her nursing skills and may not be in the bakery for a bit. Those 7 years as a geriatric nurses aide have finally come in handy. One cranky old man...piece of cake/slice of pie. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Something came up this week-and we won't have our breads. Sorry.
We will, however have cookies, granola, pancake mix and all of our other goods.
Looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜
Tiffany the cookie lady braved the rain and sold today in Kingston. Yay, Tiffany!

Today, as our wheat is forming heads, we hired a drone operator to come in and spray liquid micronutrients over the field. It is called foliar feeding, and the plants will absorb it.
Don't let that big tub fool you-it was used only to carry the few gallons we used.

Crazy busy week. We planted our Minnesota 13 open-pollinated corn that makes our amazing cornmeal AND is added to our cows feed.
We plant it later than our neighbor's corn to help prevent cross-pollination. It is a shorter day corn and will get ripe ok.
