An old-fashioned rarity...a raisin pie.

I was asked if I'd ever made a raisin pie and I chuckled saying "No, never been asked to..."

Well, of course, she then asked me for one. I had to research a recipe and a friend who inherited her grandmother's cookbook found one for me, took a snapshot of the page and texted it to me.

It was, without doubt, a unique recipe and required several very instruction-specific steps regarding the fruit, roux and pie shell...one of those "must follow exactly" kind of recipes.

So I did. Evidently it was precisely what the customer wanted as she said it was the best raisin pie she'd ever had, exactly like HER grandmother's and mom's and she was jubilant.

So, of course she shared the pie with 3 other seniors who ate and loved raisin pie when growing up and they each literally gushed with enthusiasm for its deliciousness.

And yes, I have orders for 3 raisin pies on my books now. đŸ˜†
