If you drive by the farm and think “Man they should really mow their lawn.” Here’s why we aren’t mowing.

If you need to mow, consider mowing in sections to always leave blooming dandelions for honey bees to forage on until more food sources become available.

While some may think they are weeds, dandelions are the first good food source for bees. Please remember that this spring. After winter, the bees food sources are drained and their colony is small. They need the dandelions to build back their numbers to pollinate crops for us to eat!

Prepping for planting our tomato and pepper plants in our greenhouse starts with labeling pot sticks.

We use popsicles sticks because they are biodegradable since we don’t remove the sticks as we’re planting.

Spring has sprung! Our garlic has popped through the barrier of straw we put over it for winter. While we are technically still in winter and there are chances of snow in the forecast this week, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Before we know it we’ll be braiding garlic and making more smoked garlic powder seasonings!
