Down sizing the flock! 1-2 year old laying hens in Kiowa for grabs. I don't know who lays what so it's the luck of the draw. Majority are hatched here on the farm. Fed certified organic feed.

• Artisan fresh milled einkorn sourdough loaves – $12
• 6ct fresh milled einkorn sourdough bagels:
– Everything or cinnamon – $14
– Plain – $12
• Pasture-raised eggs – $8/dozen

Did you know cows make their own heat? 🐄❄️

A cow’s rumen (the first stomach) works like a built-in heater.
When forage ferments in the rumen, it produces heat as a by-product—this process is what keeps cattle warm in winter.

• Normal cow body temperature: 101.5–102.5°F
• Cold stress usually doesn’t begin until below ~18°F (and much higher if it’s windy or wet)
• Eating more = more fermentation = more internal heat
