Broussard Farms Broussard Farms natural bath & body, pastured eggs & poultry, Nigerian Dwarf goats & more Plants, herbs & flowers are continually being planted.

Our dream of having a farm became a reality in the spring of 2015 with the acquisition of a rundown old 14 acre homestead. After several years of hard work, the farmhouse has been renovated, a soap shed was created, chickens, goats & sheep are out to pasture. The barns are almost completely renovated & fences repaired & installed. We've started having "Shop the Farm" days, special events & classes on site.

What are your juniors (young stock) doing for you? Ours are living their best days while clearing fence lines and keeping the underbrush under control. All under the watchful eyes of Gertie their LGD.

Using the bred does to rotate on a pasture is a win win. They’re eating voraciously and adding more diversity to their diet, which is good for them too.

This is a first for Broussard Farms! We had the privilege of making soap using breast milk for a friend. Which reminded me I’ve had some in the freezer (not like I’ve had anything going on the last year and a half) for someone else that I’ll be using today!

What are the benefits…
Making soap for infants/children using their mother’s milk provides a gentle moisturizing soap that is a great option for sensitive skin. It is high in fat, has vitamins A, C, D & E which are known as anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial. It soothes dry irritated skin, hydrating and moisturizing skin naturally.
While this is an excellent gentle soap for babies, there is evidence to support it being good for others with eczema, psoriasis, acne or other skin sensitivities.

Well good morning Wanda!
This first freshening 2 year old is not disappointing me at all. Although she was quite the challenge as a junior (think fence jumper) & being a little older to freshen than I’d like, she’s making up for it in the milk pail. On 9/9 at 129DIM she was only about 85 # in volume and 2 # in both BF & P from earning a full AR milk *.
This is what we are breeding for, both conformation & the milk pail. We retained her doeling sired by GTB Farm Golden Hash & a son is going to be working in another herd. We will be repeating this breeding, let us know if you’re interested in a kid from this pairing.
