Today’s wedding was SO much fun and may or may not have had me second-guessing my decision to step away from Abundant Boards for a while. 😅🤣

There is something about watching a vision come together and seeing everything laid out so beautifully. The flowers, the colors, the FOOD. 🤍

This is the part I absolutely LOVE. Getting creative, putting all the little details together, and knowing I get to be a small part of someone’s special day.

As bittersweet as this season is, today was such a sweet reminder of why I started Abundant Boards in the first place.

Don’t worry, I’m still sticking with my decision to take a break… even if today made that decision a little harder. 🤣🤍

This one is hard to post…. 💔

I made the decision today to step back from Abundant Boards for this season, and it is not a decision I made lightly. It feels especially hard making that decision as we head into one of the busiest seasons of the year.

Between working full time, going to school, raising four kids, being a wife, and trying to keep this little business going, I’ve finally had to admit that I can’t do everything at once and do it all well.

When I keep pushing myself past my limit, my family ends up getting whatever I have left over. And the truth is, they’re the whole reason I started this in the first place.

I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built over the last year. What started as a little idea turned into something so much bigger than I ever expected, and I’m so thankful for every person who trusted me to be a small part of their weddings, birthdays, showers, celebrations, and ordinary days.

This doesn’t mean goodbye forever. It just means that for the remainder of this year, and for this season of life, I need to slow down and choose what needs me most.

Aside from making the occasional board for friends and family, I won’t be taking any new orders for the time being.

Maybe one of the hardest lessons for me is realizing that just because I can keep pushing doesn’t mean I always should.

Here’s to learning to slow down, be more present, and trust that something can be put down for a season without being gone forever. 🤍

Something that has always been really important to me with Abundant Boards is the food I’m putting out.

I’m passionate about health and care about what we put into our bodies, and that was a big part of why I wanted to start this business in the first place!

I try to shop for orders as close to pickup as possible, usually the day before, 🛒 buy organic when I can, wash all my fruits and veggies with Young Living fruit + veggie wash, choose meats without added nitrates when possible, and try to avoid seed oils and highly processed oils in ingredients when I can. I’ve also switched to stainless steel cutting boards for prep.

This time of year, keeping everything fresh can look like multiple trips to Columbia Sam’s Club and Aldi in the same week 😂 I LOVE Aldi for their organic produce, especially when I’m trying to find good options without spending a fortune.

I’d much rather make the extra trip than buy too far ahead and have produce sitting around for days before an order.

It’s one of those behind the scenes things most people probably never think about, but I do. And something else people may not realize is that every board/box/spread is usually the result of hours, and sometimes even days of work between planning everything out, shopping, prepping, assembling, packaging, and delivering. 😊

A year in, I’m still constantly learning and finding little ways to make Abundant Boards better. I’m really proud of the care and thought that goes into every single order. 🥰

A whole year of Abundant Boards.

Both of these boards were the same price. 😅 The longer I do this, the more I find myself trying to fit just a little more on every board because I want there to actually be an abundance of food 😉

Looking back at some of my first boards is a good reminder not to be afraid of small beginnings. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. Sometimes you just have to start, learn as you go, and let it grow with you.

I’m still learning, still changing things, still trying new ideas, and still figuring out my style. I hope that never really stops.

I’m so proud of how much these boards have changed in just one year, and even more thankful for every single person who has ordered, shared a post, recommended me, or supported this little business along the way!

Here’s to starting before you feel ready and seeing where a year can take you. ☺️

ONE YEAR OF ABUNDANT BOARDS. 🤍

A year ago when I started this little business, I genuinely had no idea if I would even get a single order. I just knew I loved creating with food and decided to take a chance on myself.

And somehow, here we are a year later. 🥹

I’ve gotten to be a tiny part of weddings, birthdays, baby showers, graduations, business events, holidays, date nights, and so many other special moments. I’ve made hundreds of cups, filled tables with food, stayed up way too late prepping, made countless grocery runs, and learned SO much along the way.

There have definitely been moments where I’ve wondered what I got myself into 😂 but even more moments where I’ve looked at everything this business has become and thought, I can’t believe people actually trust me to do this.

This business has grown right alongside a very full season of life. raising my family, working, going to school, and everything else in between, and I’m so incredibly thankful for everyone who has continued to support Abundant Boards through it all.

Thank you for keeping me busy and supporting this little dream of mine. Here’s to year TWO! 🧀🍇🥂

WE ARE SO BACK 🍂🤎

Fall touches have officially made their way back onto the boards and I could not be happier. Pumpkin spice + apple pretzels, nuts, candied pecans, cranberry white cheddar, and all the moody fall colors. 😍

This is by far my favorite time of year for charcuterie. I love getting to add those little seasonal touches that make every board feel extra cozy and festive. 🍎

And as always, crackers are packaged separately so they stay nice and fresh until you’re ready to enjoy your board! 🤎
