We have been told for some time that many warned years ago that once the big bull studs became involved in the proof system, and dominated control of its metrics, that it won't be good for the everyday dairymen like us, and cows they have bred and cultured to be long lived for generations. Things change and keep changing, and someone is always "one step ahead" when it comes to marketing. While some is expected, a reformulation as soon as there is evidence of results in the flesh not on the paper is perhaps a tell, no? Interesting! They tell us what we want ("because science") and then remind us what we want, even though they told us we wanted it! ...and round and round we go! Proven bulls that could help everyone are quietly slaughtered, while 4 dozen genomic grandson hopefuls replace them. Risk all on the farmer. Profits guaranteed for the stud. We thank them... because "science!" Inbreeding has been created to the extreme... and they sell the solution through more control of the market through their mating services, that only uses their own bulls... of course! ..... and that's just the tip of the iceberg. If you genomic test your best milk cow in your barn, the sire of choice always is???? You can all guess without us even saying! Consider!
