Noble Hill Rescue, Inc.

Noble Hill Rescue, Inc. We are always looking for forever homes for our adoptable horses. Nice horses are available for all levels of experience.

We also have many horses who will find sanctuary here. Love horses but don't have time or space for them-consider sponsoring one! Most of the horses have had a career of being on the road, however we have Saddlebreds, Standardbreds, Quarter horses, Morgans, and Thoroughbreds (and sometimes Haflingers). All the horses are sweet, gentle animals without vices like kicking or biting. Some are well trai

ned and some need some training. Most make great horses for kids that can ride or older folks that still want to!

Sanctuary Spotlight: Sunny Joe

Sunny Joe is the horse who has been at Noble Hill the second longest. He’s a wild caught mustang that has become a total pocket pony, mostly. He does have a tendency to make himself scarce if he sees many other horses being brought in before him, he does get suspicious of what is up then. He’s part of an odd ball herd with Chief the Belgian, a pinto, and a palomino.

You can support Sunny Joe and his buddies by donating https://donate.clearthesheltersfund.org/page/noble-hill-rescue
Starting Tuesday, August 11 at 1PM ET, the first $15,000 raised across all participating shelters will be matched dollar for dollar by The Black Dog! That means that early donations could go twice as far

Birthday: 3/20/2006
Standardbred
Gelding
Drives, needs training for riding cues

Appalachia (the northern pronunciation, in case you were wondering) retired from pulling a buggy this year. While he still needs to learn about riding cues he’s the type of horse that could probably do just about anything, age permitting. Appalachia is a quiet, good horse and good for the farrier.

Sissy retired from buggy work at the end of 2023 and the family also rode her. She is safe and quiet. Sissy gets along well with mares and geldings and she is doing well barefoot and is good for the farrier.
She is girthy, but otherwise could be handled by a beginner. She needs a special diet/supplements for pituitary dysfunction.

As pretty as her namesake, Jasmine retired from pulling a buggy this year. In addition to driving she also rides but will need an experienced rider as she is forward and fast, but otherwise not hard to manage. Jasmine is the sweet new girl on the block, and she easily transitioned into her new herd at the rescue.

Starting today, Tuesday, August 4th at 1pm ET, The Black Dog will be matching donations, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. That means the first $10,000 raised across all participating organizations in the Clear The Shelters Fund will be doubled!
Please note: This is a collective match, not $10,000 per organization. Once the $10k threshold is met, the match for Week 1 will end.

Sanctuary spotlight: Ginger and Jingle
Whether it’s doubling donations or sanctuary sisters, two is better than one! Ginger and Jingle came to Noble Hill in 2023 from the same wonderful person who eventually gave us Flash. And boy, was Flash sure glad to see the familiar faces of his friends when he arrived here!

Ginger is a darling 35 year old. We were informed that while close with her sister she was terrified of other horses. We prepared to house them in a small paddock so Ginger would be comfortable. It looks like Noble Hill horses aren’t very intimidating as Ginger had no problems integrating into the herd and she is usually first in line to come into the barn at feeding time.

Jingle is a lively 31 year old. She LOVES belly scratches and once she knows you are smart enough to figure that out she will follow you through the field. Being a plucky, hardy breed, Jingle even still gives light rides!

Flash lives up to his name as a striking black and white cross of 2 popular carriage breeds. He's a friendly gentleman who came from an Amish lady who adored him and wanted the best for him in his retirement from buggy work. Flash is a pro at driving and could also be trained for riding cues.

Roger is a Steady Eddie who just about anyone could handle. Bred for harness racing he went on to become a buggy horse and then did some riding. Roger is a gentle giant who is quite clever, he figured out how to open stall doors, which he uses if we take too long getting him his dinner😉
Roger would be a good solo horse as he prefers people over horses. He is safe for beginners, but it would be helpful if the person knows riding cues so they can bring him along in his riding education.
